why I write

As I toss a crumbled paper in the bin
A voice doubts the frivolous process
Words come with occasional bursts
And my soul, feels vulnerable
It's a scary process, you know
Ripping it off, one bandage at a time
Hoping that pain translates to poetry
So it is only normal to question
Why do you write?
It is painful and  excruciating
But so is therapy, right?
For me, writing is therapeutic
It's the gateway to a world untainted
A world away from the harsh realities
A utopia meant just for me
Call me crazy, laugh at me
But that's the way it is
Even if my words go unnoticed
I carry on the tiring process
And so, I write
I write on the back of my notebook
Maybe it's the best you've ever read
Maybe it's obfuscating
But, the words flow, like they should
Because, I've got a story to tell.
