Yawning, I felt my hands buckle under all the weight of the cookies.

"Wakie wakie Evan! It's only 8am in the morning! You shouldn't be tired!" "Nina... you literally enslaved me to bake cookies till 11pm in the night." " You can copy my homework later.""Yes Master!"

Violet, following us from behind, laughed quietly. It was the only sound coming from her, seeing how quietly she walked.

The sky still had a fleck of pink, and moon, refusing to be hidden by day, revealed its milky white face. Maybe being awake in the morning isn't so bad after all...

Never mind.

"Evan, you okay?" Violet, concerned, asked repetitively. "No. I'm going to die here." I let the cookie box down, and puffed out a pathetic breath.

I can't believe Nina can be so demonic to make me do this.

"Go ahead...you two.. I can't go any further...

" Oh for goodness sake Evan! It was only one flight of stairs. ONE" "It was two" I wheezed back.

"What do you think, Vivi?!!" Nina. "Let me see....one?" "See?" Nina flashed me a victorious smile

Groaning, I looked sadly at Violet "Guess our friendship ends here..."

"You, out of all people, Evie, know that friendships don't end that easily." Nina snorted, taking the cookie box which was sitting next to me, running up a few stairs. "Maybe it does..." Violet whispered, then hurried along Nina.

------------

"Why do you always cover your ears while the bell rings, Evan?" It was lunchtime, straight after our drama lesson. Violet casually just asked this while tying her shoelaces.

"Because....My ears hurt? I have extra sensitive hearing." Violet, finished with her shoe laces, stood up, satisfied. "Is that useful in hearing what your friends say 'secretly'" Something flashed across Violet's almond coloured eyes.

"Urrrr my friends usually don't have anything to say secretly? In fact, they'll probably scream everything to everyone if they had their way" I replied shuddering, with an image of Ast running around screaming my embarrassing moments.

"Right." Although she was smiling, Violet's words were short, clipped. Her eyes refused to tell me more. Oh no. I must've made another mistake.

While I was mentally giving myself a slap in the forehead, a hand reached out to grab Violet's shoulder. "ARGHH Jesus!"

"Sorry mama! Just wanted to surprise you!" An annoyingly high-pitched voice squeaked back.

"For the hundredth time, I am NOT your mum!" "Yeah right, mum. Where are you going anyway"

Hmmm I wonder who this annoying red-head is? Oh wait. It's that girl-something starting with-

"Angela," Yeah Angela. Wait, Angela? "I told you guys I had a bakesale tod-" "Right right. See ya in last period I guess?-"

Just before Angela finished that sentence, her eyes were captivated by the charming me.

"You!" Yes me, Evan Roadage, a puppeteer at your service. "Me, what?" Politely, not trying to offend Violet's 'friend', I asked again. "You're..his friend." blushing deeply, the red-head looked away. "Who's he?" Violet demanded, frustration and interest written clearly across her face.

"Oh you're not supposed to not know." Angela waved Violet away. Hurt and anger went across Violet's expression. "I see."

"Let...let's go Vivi! We're probably late to the bake sale!" Damn I wish I was Ast or Nina at these moments. They would've made the situation better.

"Sorry I've got to go. Bye Angela!" Flinging her purple bag on her bag, Violet commanded me with her eyes. (that feels familiar....wonder why) So we started speed-walking to D-block, where the bake sale was held.

I forgot today was Friday because of the quarantine...

Hopefully the story flows better after the this part! (I promise you, it'll get better!)
