~Paisley~

I sit down across from Hayley, my back to the huge window in the cafeteria as we both begin eating our food we bought for lunch. Hayley begins to chatter on about cheerleading tryouts Friday as I open my water bottle, staring at her like she's crazy.

"You should do it with me!" Hayley bounced at the idea as I roll my eyes.

"No." I say bluntly as a girl struts over to us and sits next to Hayley. The girl was pretty, I have to admit, but she had an RBF and it made her look like she hated everyone's guts. She has dark brown wavy hair, or maybe it's black I can't tell, with beautiful green eyes and a nose piercing which made her look even more intimidating.

"What do you want Kimberly?" Hayley rolls her eyes as the Kimberly girl sneers at her, making her look like the wicked witch of the west.

"Don't sound so excited cuz." I raise a questioning eyebrow as Hayley rolls her eyes.

"This is my cousin, sadly. Kimberly this is Paisley, my new best friend." Kimberly plasters a fake smile on her face as her judging eyes look me up and down sadly.

"Hi new girl, I would just like to say welcome to this place that's called high school." Kimberly smiles as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"I know what a school is. I'm not dumb." I press my lips together as Kimberly's eye twitched.

"I didn't say you were." I could hear the annoyance in her voice as I looked at her weirdly.

"No you didn't have to, it was in the tone you used. I think I know what a high school is, I'm sitting in it so I can get an education and go to college to pursue a career." I say in the same tone she used.

"Don't make me sound so dumb, which means don't use that tone with me." Kimberly rolled her eyes as I stared at her like she was actually dumb.

"Why not? You used the same tone on me. So why can't I! Is it because you think you're better than everyone else and you think you can speak however you want to others to put them down to make yourself feel better about yourself? Even though you're not better than everyone else and probably just gets what she wants because if you don't then you throw a little tantrum like a little two year old not getting their way. Am I right?" I quirk an eyebrow as I hear snickers around me, noticing everyone was watching this whole thing go down.

"You're crossing a line." I smirk as I sit back in my chair.

"Then don't draw one. Simple as that. We both go to this school and I'm not about to let you rule over this school like it's yours when it's not. It's our school so either deal with it or you can go cry to your daddy because some new girl is setting you in your place and spittin' facts. Truth hurts doesn't it, sweetheart?" I raise my eyebrows as she opens her mouth before closing it and opening it again and closing it, making her look like a gold fish, "that's not attractive sweetie." I point at her opening and closing mouth as people begin laughing like it's the funniest thing in the world.

"Watch your back." Kimberly glared at me as she stands up fast, knocking her chair over.

"Ooh I'm so scared. Everyone watch out, she's going to throw a tantrum because I'm not cowering in fear! Oh my gosh save us all! The little girl is going to throw a tantrum because something didn't go her way!" I say as I rolled my eyes, sarcasm dripping off of every word.

"I would be scared new girl, everyone is scared of me because I can ruin everyone's life in a second." I roll my eyes for like the millionth time today as she glared at me.

"Obviously not sweetheart, does it look like I'm scared? I didn't think so either." I cross my arms as Kimberly huffs before stomping off, her heels sounding like they might break.

"Dayum! The new girl is a straight savage!" I hear someone yell as everyone begins clapping and whooping as I gave them a closed lipped smile before sitting back down and rolling my eyes.

"I hate your cousin." I state as Hayley nods.

"Yeah me too." I chuckle before taking a drink from my water bottle before realizing everyone was still watching me.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer." I say annoyingly as I rolled my eyes, already knowing that that girl is going to be putting me in a bad mood for the rest of my school days.

"So, what's poppin'?" A blonde haired guy slid in next to Hayley, running his hand through his hair before his brown eyes stared at me expectantly. I look at Hayley as his arm stretches over her head and wraps around her shoulder, a cute blush making its way into her cheeks.

"I'm sorry but...who are you again? I didn't catch your name." I say as I stare at him as he grins.

"That's because I didn't throw it." He winks at me before chuckling and shaking his head. My face betrayed me and broke out into a grin as he gave me a high five, "it's Henry by the way. And that dude over there who's gawking at you like a little kid is my best friend Brayden." Henry points to my right as I look over to see that dude from the hallway leaning against the window, staring at me already.

"I'm not gawking you ass wipe." Brayden rolls his eyes as he hits Henry in the back of the head hard before glaring at him.

"Ow! That hurt man!" Henry rubs the back of his head as Brayden rolls his eyes.

"Quit complaining you big baby, let's go dude we have somewhere to be." It's Henry's turn to roll his eyes before he gets up and winks at Hayley, her blush deepening.

"See ya around new girl." They both walk out of the cafeteria before I look at Hayley.

"You got some explaining to do missy." I say as I lean forward, waiting for her to explain herself.

"Well it's not everyday that one of the hottest dudes in school comes over to you and wraps his arm around you." Hayley shrugs before she looks down at her food like it's the most interesting thing in the entire world.

"Uh huh, sure let's go with that." I scrunch up my nose before slipping my water bottle into my back pack and throwing away my trash to see Kimberly walking up to the Brayden dude. Ew.

"You should come over after school, I can't drive yet because of my age but my dad can." I say as I sit back down.

"I can drive. Why can't you drive?" Hayley asks as I sigh.

"I skipped a grade so I'm turning sixteen soon." I say as Hayley's jaw drops.

"Dayum, okay that's different. Just tell your dad I'm coming over and and I'll drive us there." I smile before pulling out my phone and texting him as the bell rang, telling us to go to class.

"See ya after." I wave before going upstairs as Hayley goes down the hall.
