Giftmas is in a few days and all I needed to get is a gift for Kronk. I wasn't sure what to get him. So I went with Maline and Yatta to the mall.
"So..." Yatta grinned, poking my side. "What are you going to get your boyfriend?"
I scoffed. "Kronk is not my boyfriend. We are just friends. While Kronk is out doing whatever with Kuzco." I sighed. "What should I get Kronk that doesn't send mix signals?" I asked.
"Oh, Hunny, if you don't have feelings for Kronk you shouldn't have let him move in with you. You clearly like Kronk," Yatta Explained, trying to prove a point.
"Malina made convinced me to let Kronk move in with me. Besides, we are just friends," I groaned.
Malina patted me on the shoulder. "What do you think Kronk would like, Mara?"
I sighed. "I was going to get him new oven mitts and some new pan..."
Yatta cut me off. "Don't do that, Mar. That would be too romantic."
"Ughh, why did I come with again?" I groaned. "I gotta go, I'll see you later, Malina."
Malina grabbed my arm. "Don't go, Mara. We are going to Mudka's."
I shook my head and shrugged. "That's okay. I'm not hungry. Besides, I have to get home and wrap everything before tomorrow."
I went and walked through trying to look for something to give Kronk. But I found nothing that I thought Kronk would like. Kronk would like anything I get but I can tell when he doesn't really like something. Forget what Yatta says, I'm getting Kronk a new potato smasher, a bowl scraper, and a jumbo veggie steamer. He's been talking about those for months. I am also putting in oven mitts that I made just for him. Kronk will love my gift and I don't care if it's romantic.
Hmm, maybe I did have feelings for Kronk. Maybe Yata was right. I rushed home to wrap everything and put it under the tree Kronk set up.
Kronk and I agreed on wearing festive clothes. And the food we made together was amazing. Then we sat down to open presents. I handed my box to him, scared of what he'll think of it.
"Are you sure you want me to go first? It's impolite to go before a lady, Mara," Kronk asked, being all sweet.
I smiled. "No, go first Kronk."
He smiled largely. "Yeah!" Kronk slowly pulled the ribbon, opening the box. First, his face froze which made my heart drop. Then he squealed in excitement. "I love it! I love that! It's just what I wanted!"
"Wait," I said, out the mitts. "I made these for you."
Kronk looked over the mitts. "Mara, I love them." Then he pulled out a box from behind him. "This one is for you."
Unwrapping the box, I was speechless. "Oh, Kronk," I moaned. "It's beautiful." It was a gold and blue music box.
"I remember it you talked about one a music box that you listened to with your grandma."
I set the box down and wrapped my arms around him.
Kronk didn't want to hug back because of my rule. "What about 'No Touchy'?" He asked.
"It's Giftmas, Kronk. Forget the rule," I purred in his ear.
Kronk's strong arms squeezed me close, nuzzling his head into my shoulder. I pushed myself gently apart, just a tad. Our eyes met.
"Is that a mistletoe?" I smiled.
His cheeks turned a shade of pink. "It is."
I batted my eyes. "Well, then you what that means."
"No, what?" Kronk asked, clueless.
"Oh, just close your eyes, you wonderful Kronkenitzan man," I purred, pulling him in and kissing him on the lips.
