"You know i can sense you miles away?"her voice was soft as Kaleb walked stealthily around the tree.He let a laugh out and looked up at the darkened sky."thought i was pretty good about being quiet."He said and Mariah smiled lightly.He watched as her lips slipped back into a frown.He sat next to her watching the droplets of water cover the trees and moss from the waterfall they sat at.Mariahs fingers picked at the soft and thin green layer of moss."Whats wrong ?"Kaleb asked and Mariah let a breath go."My wolf cares about you..i care about you."She said softly not looking at Kaleb.Her eyes never turned away from the water.Kaleb looked at her trying to understand.Tears softly dripped out of Mariahs eyes."I feel like i dont belong here...like i should be dead."She mumbled lightly.Kaleb held her close."Hey.."He trailed off."Im sorry..i know it was a lot for you to save me."She whimpered softly.Kaleb rubbed her back shaking his head."it was the right thing to do."Kaleb said lightly.Mariah sniffled looking to Kaleb now.He held her face smiling a little."It just so happens i developed feelings for you...and my wolf cares to much about you now...but he's willing to let you go if thats what you want."he said and Mariahs eyes flickered down to Kaleb's lips."Can i just try something?"she asked.Slowly they inched toward each other.
Kalebs laugh woke Mariah up from her beautiful afternoon nap.She groaned when she realized she had only slept 30 minutes."Kayy!"she whined and he looked toward her quickly.Melted strawberry ice cream dripped down his chin and covered his lips."Yes love?"he asked muffled since his mouth was full of the sweet dessert.She smiled ver lightly and held her hands out.Kaleb walked over and laid down on top of her.She huffed a bit but cuddled him close."you interrupted nap time."She said softly kissing Kalebs chin.She licked the melted ice cream off her lips."Sorrylove."He said wiping his face clean on Mariahs tshirt.She groaned and pushed him."Kaleb ugh.. this was a brand new shirtt."She whined making Kaleb laugh."Love i'll buy you a new shirt."He said and Mariah groaned again."Weird childish wolves."She muttered and walked up the stairs slowly to change.
"I love you."Kaleb slipped as he watched Mariah try to get ready to leave.His heart couldn't handle her leaving.Mariah turned to him very surprised at his words."What?"She asked softly.Kaleb cleared his throat and stepped closer."I wasn't planning to tell you..i was just going to let you go back to your mate and your home your family but when i heard you were planning to leave sooner than we had discussed i got scared."He said and held her hands."If your mate was smart he would have searched for you would have chased you here and stolen you back.I am really sorry he's a douche but i know what im losing."He said looking at her tiny beautiful hands.He held them gently and ran his hands up to her elbows."I fell in love with you."He said and Mariahs breath caught."I know how much im asking for but i promise i will never hurt you like he did...I will never hurt you at all."He said looking into her tear filled eyes.Mariah pulled him close and pressed her forehead to his.
"So we're trying?"Mariah asked looking Kaleb in the eye.He smiled and held her close."We're trying..Mrs.Montgomery."He said kissing Mariahs cheeks.She giggled and let him as she held her arms over his shoulders.He picked her up and held her."I love you."She giggled and he smiled looking at her."I love you more."Kaleb said.

All of these memories went through Mariahs head as she was thrown around.Her head knocking into the concrete or through glass.Cuts and bruises covered her body.She was starting to lose conciousness but when the black dots in her vision only sort of cleared she saw Kaleb.She didn't know if it was her hallucinating or he was actually there but her heart swelled and she felt at peace.Everything was moving in slow motion.Suddenly she saw the trees and the beautiful blue sky with the cotton candy shaped clouds.It was a beautiful sight to see."Kaleb."She whispered but her jaw hurt so much to move it she decided to use her link."I love you Mr.Montgomery."She said in her head before the sky was blocked by a shadow.It was a petite shadow but it blocked Mariahs view of the sky.But when she closed her eyes she could see the image of it.Sound droned out and it made her completely unaware of her surroundings.
