JAY'S POV

I don't get it.. I was starting to get a hold of Sara. And this bitch comes all the way from New York?

"Class, settle down," Mr. Finkle tells our English class. "Before class ends in.. 30 seconds. I just wanted to tell you.. I have decided, before you guys take the final test for the Scarlet Letter that you guys should get a chance to review a little bit..with each other. Like a partner essay maybe?" He hints to our class, as we sigh. "And I'm even letting you choose partners-" The bell for second period cuts him off.

"Sara, you wanna be partners?" I hear Lauren ask Sara, as I start to pack up my binder and notebook.

"Sure," Sara agrees, as she turns around," Sorry, Jay"

I shrug, pretending to be cool with it," Yeah, it's all good"

Lauren won't know what hit her.

LAUREN'S POV

"So you wanna meet up at my house after school?" I ask her.

"Yeah, sounds good," Sara answers.

"You okay?" I ask her.

"It's nothing," she assures me.

"Okay then.." I agree, as we start walking to our 2nd block classes.

Something is definitely up...

SARA'S POV

I feel bad for lying to Lolo, but like.. Eventually I'll get over the fact that I'll fail English this quarter..
"You're not late today, good" Jay tells me, as I sit next to him.

"I was only late yesterday.." I tell her.

"I'm only looking out for you, babe" He says.

"Yeah.." I say.

"Hey, you okay?" He asks me, looking concerned.

I shrug," Yeah, I just wish it was the weekend, you know?"

And now I'm lying to Jay...

-AFTER SCHOOL-

"You wanna start on the essay now?" Lauren asks me, as we sit on my bed in my room.

"Sure," I say, trying to act like nothing was wrong.

"Are you sure you're okay?" She asks.

I shrug," Honestly.."

She puts her hand on top of mine," You can tell me.."

"Can I tell you on a walk?" I ask her.

She smiles," Yes, of course," as we both get up from my bed.

---
"There'll be more chances in the quarter to boost your grade," Lauren assures me.

"But c'mon, the test could help," I sigh.

"And it will. You're going to ace that test," she tells me.

"What if I don't?" I ask her.

"Hey, have some faith"

"Sorry, ugh it's just" I sigh," I don't know to do"

"You did all that you could, now we wait"

I look down at the ground, and remember the song I wrote a month ago called I Don't Love You.

"I did all that I could, then I met someone else"

Honestly.. This nostalgia.

"Hey," she looks me in the eyes," if you don't pass the test, I'll help you, ok?"
