Some Things Do Change

Chapter 5

Ashley's pov:

Zach Porter saved me, and now he's being nice to me? This is really strange!!!

He was sitting next to me.

"Why did you save me?" I asked after 5 minutes of silence.

"Well, I saw you and it looked as if you were going to jump. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I saw someone die and I knew I could have done something about it," he said.

I nodded, "Why are you being so nice to me right now? For as long as I've know you, you've always been mean," I said.

"Yeah. I've started to feel bad for what I've done to you in the past," he said.

"Well, I should go," I said standing up.

"Where are you going?" he asked standing up as well.

"To get my brother," I said.

He nodded and looked at his phone, "Damn it!" he said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"My brother took my car! I knew I shouldn't have given him the extra keys," he complained.

"I could take you home," I offered.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Of course. It's the least I can do after you saved my life," I said.

"Thanks," he said.

"No problem."

We got into the car, "First I need to pick up Jamie," I said.

"Alright," he said.

I rang the bell of the babysitter house, I paid her and left with Jamie.

I put him in the back.

Zach smiled at Jamie.

"Jamie, this is Zach. Say hi," I told him.

"Hi," Jamie said.

"Hi," Zach said.

I dropped Zach off at his house.

"Thanks," he said getting out of the car.

"Like I said, it's nothing compared to what you did. Thanks," I said.

"Any time," he said and left.

Jamie and I got home.

It was 5pm now, so I let him play with his toys for and hour before he ate.

After we ate he made me watch his favourite TV shows.

He fell asleep on the couch at 8, so I carried him to bed.

That night my parents didn't come home, I had no idea where they were.

When I woke up the next morning my parents were in the kitchen.

I really didn't want to see them. I hid at the top of the stairs spying on them until I was sure they were gone.
