She still talked to him like they were close friends. I knew jake had a soft spot for her and it was because Edward left. He helped her get through it and I can't do anything about it. I smiled at my mates and their faces were turned towards me. Except Sam who looked at Carlisle. Edward stepped forward with Carlisle and Jasper to translate their thoughts.
"Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them. " Carlisle
"They want to know how the newborns differ from us. " Edward
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life. "Carlisle
"Carlisle right. That's why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army, but no human army could stand against them. Now, the two most important things to remember are, first, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that,and you will lose. Emmett " Jasper

We looked at them to see them fight.

"Don't hold back. " Jasper
"Not in my nature. " Emmett
They fought for a while Jasper won
"Never lose focus. "Jasper
Edward and Carlisle went up against each other.
"One more thing. Never turn your back on your enemy. "
Rosalie against Jasper was interesting. She looked pretty even fighting. She had done my hair as well and I liked it.Jasper won again like the last fights. Alice went up against him and she tricked him by almost giving him a kiss. At this point Paul was next to me and I pet his fur gently.
"Some of you are going to get hurt "
He looked at me
"I don't want that to happen "
He shook his head
"Demi " Jasper called my name
I went towards him but he said something's before
"Demi is the youngest in our coven with only two years. She has powerful gift so be careful some of them might too "
I ran towards him like emmett had and he knocked me down. I heard the wolves growl but I stood up quickly. I lunged towards him and dropped him. He got up but when he tried touching me again I shocked him. I did what Jane had tried on me
"Pain "
He held his head
"Stop please stop "
Alice came towards him and I stopped.
"I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to "
Jasper stood up
"I'm sorry I should have been to h-"
"It's okay demi you didn't hold back. Good job. However this time fight me but without your gifts.

He started running towards me to which I got knocked down once again. Jasper was smart but I wanted to win. I wouldn't stop until I won.

He knocked me down twice but this time I stood up and started dodging his attempts to his me. He ended up winning

"Let's go again "
"Demi "
I looked at Edward.
"I want to go again. "

After three rounds I started to get the hang of it. I won all two after those.

"I think that's good for today. Demi I can train more with you later."

They all started to walk away and retreat. I got closer to Jasper to ask him a few questions.

"How do you know so much about newborns?"
" I didn't have quite the same upbringing as our adopted siblings."
He lifted his sleeves to show me bites.
"I have those too "
I lifted my sleeve and showed him.
"Battle scars. All the training the confederate army gave me was useless against the newborns. Still, I've never lost a fight. Until today of course."

You could hear his southern accent a bit clearer now while he spoke.
"Wait. Hold up. "
He looked at me
"Confederate ? As in a racist organization "
"Back then I wasn't smart. I made bad decisions but I learned. "

"So During  Civil war?"
"I was the youngest major in the Texas Cavalry. All without having seen a real battle."

"Until I met a certain immortal...Maria. I was riding back to Galveston after evacuating a Column of women and children when I saw them. I immediately offered them my aid."

"She was creating an army?" Me
I read his mind as he told the story. It was like a movie you could see her and her friends.

"They were very common in the south. Constant brutal battles for territory. Maria won 'em all. She was smart, careful, and she had me. I was her second in command, my ability to control emotions served her well. I trained her newborns, but in this occupation, since she never let them live beyond the first year, is my job to dispose of them. I could feel everything they felt.I thought what Maria and I had was love. But I was her puppet, she pulled the strings. I didn't know there was another way, till I found Alice. Now she'd seen me coming of course."

I opened my mind to see in his.

I saw him and her meet in a diner. She was truly expecting him. I smiled to myself as Alice walked towards us.
"You kept me waiting long enough. "
"My apologies ma'am. I don't know what I'd become without her. "
"Shhh You never have to be that again. "

They kissed and I felt happy for them.

"Jasper ? Are you sure there's nothing I could do to help ? " Bella asked like if she really cared
"Well, your presence alone, your scent, will distract the newborns. Their hunting extinct will take over and drive them crazy. "
She smiled proudly
Edward took Bella to her house and I went home with our family. Me and Emmett raced and I ended up winning.
