The New Tiny Giant and His Setter

Chapter 3

Yousuke's POV

Monday, First day of school. We just got kicked out of the volleyball club. UGHHHHH!! 
"This is your fault Kage- whatever your name is!" I yelled at the setter. 

"Huh?! My fault?! That little shrimp picked a fight with me!" He yelled back. 

"Who are you calling a shrimp! You're only 18cm taller than me!" Shouyo exclaimed. 

"Anyway! Somehow we have to be able to get back into the volleyball club. We could go for a 3 on 3. It might be us vs our senpai's but it's worth the shot. 

"Alright fine! Let's do this."

"On the count of three. One. Two. Three!" 

"Captain! Let us challenge you to a match! Us three vs you senpais! We'll prove that we'll work together as a team!" We yelled out together. The senpais laughed but we didn't care. All three of us were 100% serious.

"And if you lose? The captain asked us.

"We'll receive any punishments," Kageyama said. This idiot choosing for us. 

"Cool. We just had two more club applications. Kageyama. You're going to work with them. As for you two. I'll join in. For the punishment. If you, Kageyama lose, until at least while we third years are around. You are not going to play as a setter in a match. I'm sure with your techniques you'll suit any position." Cap'n said. Me and Shouyo nodded eagerly. But the ravenette seemed to have problems. 

"But, I'm a setter!" He yelled out. 

"Then just win," Cap'n replied. Kageyama gritted his teeth. 

"Fine. I'll do it." He agreed. 

"Great. Next Monday will be the match day. You guys do whatever you want." Cap'n said and slammed the door. 

"Yoshaa! Let's win Shouyo!" 

"As if I'm going to let you win. I need to win this no matter what." Kageyama said, he then walked away. 

A few hours later

"Oh, Yousuke. Hi again. You came back for more training I presume." Ukai Ikkei said. 

"Hi, Grandpa, and yea, I am," I replied. Yes, I'm a relative of the infamous great coach Ukai, Whatever that is. I'm actually the nephew of his grandson. I just call him grandpa cause why not?

"Great. Now, what do you want today? My students are coming any minute now. If you're going to stick around. Set for them as well will ya?" He said. 

"Sure Grandpa. I just want to ask you something. Can you teach me about the tempos you mentioned yesterday? And also the falling toss? What is that?" I asked. 

"Woah, Woah, Take it, easy kid. It'll be quick but sure I can teach you about the tempos. I'll teach you what the falling toss is after the class I'm going to have. This quick is going to be hard to do. The quick you already practiced with your friend is already good enough ya know." He replied. 

"I know I know. But there is a practice match kinda thing is coming up and I want to win!" I said. 

"Sure sure. Anyway. This is what tempos are..."

One week later. 3 on 3 match day

"Shouyo! Good morning!" I exclaimed. 

"Morning You-kun!" He replied. 

"You ready for the match?" I asked. 

"Of course!"

"Great! Now, remember that the toss will be a bit different today. I've practiced a lot so I don't have many misses but I might still miss a few tosses sometimes. But don't panic. Just try and get it over the net. Maybe Cap'n will help. He is a third-year after all. And I heard he had great reflexes." I said. Shouyo nodded. 

"Alright. Let's beat this king down!" I exclaimed. 

"Yea!!!" Shouyo also exclaimed.
