I haven’t wrote in three days because we had an accident. We slipped off a shelf of snow. It accumulated into an avalanche. Along with losing most of our gear and food, we lost two colleagues. Paula and William. William was from Australia, and Paula was from Brazil. From what the little I know of them, Paula had a thing for American chocolate cake and William’s sister was 14 and hoping to get into the same college he had come from. I am hoping we find them within the next two hours, because we can’t stay here and starve and it is too far to go back. I refuse to end the journal entry here. I will return and see if we find them in an hour.

I found William! He was six feet under the snow and had a bad case of hypothermia, but Kayin, our on location medic says he will make it. But it will delay the movement of camp. Still no sign of Paula, doubt she will make it now. It is too cold outside for her to survive for over 12 hours under snow. So we will move camp when William gets a little better. But that might take a day or so. We only have enough food for about four to five more days. That is, if we eat it sparingly. We have only been out here five days.
