Today was amazing
It was the first day of school
My teacher gave me a star.
I showed it to my dad
He was so happy,
He took me to the store
Bought me a toy car.
Mom made my favourite pasta for dinner
Corn and cheese
Later she even let me have
An extra bowl of ice cream.
Then they tucked me into
Each gave me loving good night kiss
As I closed my eyes
I was so happy
As I drifted off to a land of abyss.
Oh, how short lived will be this time of bliss.
