-AMIKO'S POV-
-1 MONTH LATER-"Stop Nia!" I laughed as she chased me around my house. We were home alone since Mack took my Nana out for the day. They've been leaving together a lot lately but I don't say anything. As long as my grandma is happy, I'm happy.
"Okay I'm done." Nia said out of breath and I laughed as I plopped down on the couch.
"What's in the phone tho? I mean you been hiding it since I've been here." She said and i smiled.
"Nothing girl." I said truthfully but I just been smiling since I've been texting Benji. Since he told me he wanted to get to know me and i for sure wanted to get to know him, we've been seeing each other everyday and Nia gets upset.
She thinks Benji is taking me away from her but I don't think so. She checks Benji about it all the time and they argue and it be so funny.
"You won't believe who texted me around 2 something last night." She said as she came and sat down beside me.
"Who?" I asked and she rolled her eyes.
"Benji's brother. The one I went off on at Mack's that day." She said and I covered my mouth.
"For real? What he say?" I asked and she cracked a smile causing me to die laughing. I ended up falling on the floor. Nia was hilarious.
"Now Nia." I laughed and she playfully rolled her eyes at me.
"What? He's actually cute but I know what he look at me as and I'm not with it." Nia spoke and I nodded agreeing with her.
That's what boys only wanted nowadays.
"I'm hungry, want something to eat?" I asked and she nodded.
Since it was going on 3 in the afternoon I decided to make some hot wings and nachos. I was the best when it came to cooking. My mom taught me everything I know.
I walked in the kitchen while Nia chilled in the living room. I took out everything to cook and I started. In the middle of me cooking, my phone began ringing and it was Benji. Answering the FaceTime call, I sat the phone up.
"Wassup Ma." He said and I smiled as I shuffled around the kitchen.
We've gotten to know each other much more. I haven't met his brothers and sisters yet but I've talked to them over the phone.
"Wassup. What you doin?" I smiled like a 5 year old and he laughed at me.
"Nothing. I was on my way home. Had to handle some business." He said and i nodded as I put the beef in the drainer.
"What you whippin?" He asked.
"Just a lil something. Nia and I were hungry so I'm just making Hot Wings and Nachos." I said and I watched as he licked over his lips.
"Well make me a plate." He said and i nodded.
"Okay. I got you." I said and he smiled.
We talked a little more and then he hung up because him and Brandon was talking "business".
As I continued to shuffle around, Nia walked in. She sat at the bar before playfully spinning in the wood chair.
"So how you feel?" She asked with a smile and I chuckled.
"I still feel like that 9th grader." I said and she laughed at me before shaking her head.
"So have they been following after you?" Nia asked and I sighed.
"You know it. They just stand around but they don't say anything." I said and Nia shook her head.
"Have you told Benji?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I told myself I didn't wanna get him involved and I don't. I can handle it." I said and Nia smacked her lips.
"You need to tell him. Maybe he can protect you in a way I and your grandma can't. Besides, Did you forget what Benji does for a living?" She asked and I blew out a breath before I started to make me and her plates.
-BENJI'S POV-
"So you mean to tell me Rosco came by your crib asking to work with us." I confirmed as I talked to Brandon.
"Yeah." Brandon ran his hand over his face.
"What you say? You ain't say yeah did you?" I asked.
"Man hell nawl. That nigga a snake and I don't see how he even thought it was cool to ask me that. I don't even know how he found out where I lived. Somebody at the warehouse a snake and I feel it. Ion even known why I ain't even blow the nigga brains when I had the chance." Brandon spoke and I sighed.
"You think. That was yo chance." I said. I shook my head.
"He only came to you because you talk more then I do. I wouldn't even have said a word to him if he asked some dumb shit like that." I said.
"Man look, somebody snitching because our product been running short." He blurted out and i raised a brow.
When it came down to the product, Brandon was working that. I was dealing with the money.
"Okay meet me at the warehouse tomorrow at 2. Don't be late for one reason." I said as I stood to my feet.
"Man fuck you." He said and i shrugged.
I grabbed my keys before walking to the door and he followed. We got outside and I opened my car door.
"Nigga where you goin?" Brandon questioned with a frown. This nigga was quick to hop in Somebody business.
"Damn. Mind yours. I'm going to slide by Miko crib." I said and he smirked and I waved him off before getting in my car.
"If her friend there, tell her I said wassup." He spoke and I ignored before pulling out the driveway. Brandon was not taking Nia serious so why would I waste my breath?
I pulled up outside Miko's house before I got out. I checked my surroundings like usual and my eyes landed on a black truck that sat across the street. I mean it was probably nothing but it looked suspicious so I was gonna make sure to be cautious.
I jogged up the porch stairs before knocking on the door. Turning around, the truck was moved from the spot. Instead it was close to my truck.
I chuckled before the door opened revealing Miko. She smiled before she pulled me in. Before she closed the door, I watched as her head looked both ways before she closed the door.
"Wassup ma." I said and she turned on her heels before smiling. I've been seeing that smile a lot lately but I mean, I'm the reason she's smiling so isn't that good?
"Where you coming from?" She asked and i rolled my eyes thinking of Brandon annoying ass. At least it wasn't my siblings this time.
"I was talking to Brandon about things." I said as I watched her make my plate. I couldn't lie, Miko had a nice ass shape but she kept it hidden for a reason I didn't know.
She was always wearing baggy clothes but I don't blame her. I'm not asking her to wear that tight shit that these hoes be wearing. I see that she has more respect for herself and I fucks with that.
"Things like business." She laughed and I nodded.
"Yeah. You know. Gotta handle shit." I said with a shrug as she handed me my plate. She handed me a drink and came and sat beside me.
"Where's Nia and your grandma?" I asked.
"Nia is in the living room and my grandma left with a friend." She said with a smile.
"Do you ever stop smiling?" I asked with a low chuckled and she straight faced me before laughing.
"I'm sorry. I just smile a lot." She said as she walked to the sink and washed the couple of dishes that sat in there.
As she washed dishes, I couldn't take my eyes off her.
