"My dear one," he started, "you were brought here with a purpose and you have accomplished it. You were a great princess, but I'm afraid that your time here has come to an end as well. You have learnt all you needed from this country."

"What will happen when I go back home?"

"Your life will go back just as how it was before you were here."

"But then she will go back to being the same age she was when she first came to Narnia. And I will never see her again, will I?" Edmund interrupted the heartfelt conversation.

"I'm afraid that is what happens."

"Please, Aslan," Reagan approached him even more, with tears staining her cheeks, "can't you do something? I don't want to go back to how it was before. Not after everything that I have lived here. Even if that means having to stay in your country forever."

"I have seen you love each other all along the journey and I have been happy about the changes you have made together," Aslan looked at the couple, "maybe it is my turn to change things, little one."

The lion blew softly on the girl, moving her hair backwards. His breath was sweet and fresh and the girl wished to have that air blowing on her forever. However, that was impossible and soon, the air stopped and the door to their world opened, calling for them to step in.

"Does that mean that I will see Edmund in our world?"

"That is for you to work on, dear ones, but I have made you grow up just as how you grew up here. Not only physically, but in spirit, which is the most important growth a person can go through."

Caspian hugged everyone tight, including Eustace, while giving his goodbyes. He was about to cry, but stopped himself and put on a smile on his face instead.

"You have been like a big brother to me and I will miss you dearly," Reagan confessed with her arms around Caspian's neck, "try not to burn the castle while I'm not here."

Everyone laughed, although no one was happy. She said goodbye to her best friend, promising to find each other back in England, and Eustace as well. While Aslan spoke to Eustace, informing him what would happen with him and Narnia, the couple stepped backwards to say their goodbyes to each other.

"I can't believe this ends here," Reagan murmured while Edmund cupped her cheeks, wiping away the tears that continued to stream down her face, "What happens when you don't come back to Narnia?"

"Life goes on. The memories will never leave you," he softly explained, kissing her forehead.

     "But I leave you."

"We will meet again. I promise," he assured her before kissing her lips once more. This kiss, their last kiss, was longer than any of the other ones they had given each other, but it seemed as if it had lasted only for a second. They did not want to part, they did not want to miss each other. But they knew that Aslan was only doing what was best for them, so they did not question it and faced their destiny.

"I love you, Edmund," she whispered hugging the boy. He replied the same, tickling her hear with his breath and lifting his girlfriend up, hugging her even tightly if that was even possible. Soon, they heard how the Eustace's conversation with Aslan ended, and they walked back to their friends.

They hugged the lion for the last time and stepped into the door that transported them back to England, their hands on each others'. Soon, they could feel how they were separated from each other.

On the other side of the shore, Caspian and Aslan looked at them for the last time.

Reagan appeared in the forest near her house, where she was transported to Narnia back in the Telmarine era. She was wearing the same dress, but it was now a little longer, a little bigger. Her hair had grown and she was taller than she used to be before getting to the country she loved so dearly. She felt different, not only physically but, as Aslan had said, spiritually.

She heard her mother call for her through the trees and she could not help but run to her, hugging her as soon as she could. She smelled of flour and vanilla, as if she had been cooking Reagan's favourite biscuits. She did not seem to realize that her daughter was now much older than she was when she got out of the house that same morning, which meant that Aslan's magic had worked.

"What is that around your neck, honey?" the woman asked, taking into her hands the ring that Reagan had hanging from a delicate gold chain.

"Oh, something that I found in one of my drawers," she smiled touching the ring as well, "I kind of like it."

"It suits you," her mother told her and, taking her hand, walked with her towards their house. Familiar smells filled Reagan's nose, making her smile with nostalgia.

Reagan missed the big castle she once lived in and walking through the eternal corridors with her marvellous dresses floating behind her, but she was happy to get back to her little house surrounded by flowery fields and tall trees. However, she did not feel at home anymore.

Home is where your heart is and hers was still back in Narnia. And with Edmund.

I procrastinated so much in uploading
this chapter just because I did not
want to say goodbye to this story
it's unbelivable.

This story has (sadly) come to an end!
I wanted a happy ending for my babies,
I have grown so fondly of Reagan that
I could not even think of making her
a child again!

I hope you have loved this story
and its characters as much as I have!
And keep an eye on my profile because
it will not be long before you meet
Reagan again!

Thank you so much for your support
and don't hesitate to leave a comment
telling me what you think of the ending
and of the story altogether!
I love you all so much.
