Sky's the Limit

I jumped for the sky and hit my toes on the bricks
I'll learn from my mistakes and try again
"Don't give up," the clouds write.

Kept a smile on my face every time I faced rejection
I'm not letting life know about how I feel
Just keep trying over and over again

Maybe this time will be different
Yet, I still failed again
Hoping one day I will taste success

I feel the tornado in between us
It keeps pushing us apart
I try hard to hold onto your hand
But you don't feel the same so you let go

Rejection isn't always easy
But it's just the world's way of telling you that it's something you don't need
I'll keep reaching for the sky until I reach it

I won't give up on this world
It may not always end up as a rainbow
But the storms will have prepared me for something
Something I don't know about yet

The raindrops on my face don't come often
But when they do I try to think about the calm before the storm
The calm is always the best thing in your life
But it always brings a devastating blow later

Stubbing your toe is always painful
But you'll learn not to do it again
Sometimes you might bleed, but it'll heal ten times better
Learn from your mistakes and failures

Sometimes I hear your voice in the rain
The day where we dancing and having fun
The day I told you I loved you
The day you ended things
I thought you were the person I had forever
But life ain't always a breeze

Sitting in a church pew praying that the rain stops falling
A day you've finally come to your breaking point
You start from the ground up

A thunderstorm may brew between you and your friends
But always have hope that the storm will blow over
The sun will eventually start shining again
It may still be some heavy rains
The rainbow might come out
But it might be the worlds way of telling you, you don't need those people

The wind may knock you off your feet
Something may come unexpectedly
Like the new next-door neighbor
You may love them or hate them
But always choose to be kind

Sometimes if shooting for the sky doesn't work
Shoot for the stars
