A Poetry : Late night thoughts

Done waiting!

I am tired of waiting;
For your recognition;
'Cause it's exhausting;
To get your attention;

I'm done begging;
For the spotlight;
No longer craving;
I'll put up a fight;

I was dusty and brittle;
Also scared and little;
Yet, I'll create an empire and a title;
That no one can topple;

I'll not be mere fuel;
For a fool like you;
No more, am I the damsel !
Be grateful that I don't know voodoo;

I'm not coal to glow;
I'm a diamond
So I shine; actually a diamond reflects;
But you get my point?!

I'll shine;
Very bright;
With all my might;

Gone are the days I'm afraid;
No more!
I will not fear anything;
My reign will not end.

Thank you for reading 'Done waiting'. Fun fact, diamonds actually reflect light...so without a light source they'll just be a rock. The phenomena is call total internal reflection...I was shooked when I first learned about it....but after some time it'll make sense. So that was a brief science lesson🤭😂. Seriously though, thank you for supporting amateurs like yours truly🥰...
