you gave me life
though it took me forever to cry
i was always yours
you fell in love with him
apart of him gave you me
from the stories I hear
our family loved him
but he grew sick
i feel that some part of you still loves him
maybe thats why the stories dont come from you
maybe thats why i never asked
because i love you
so i ask your mother sometimes
maybe your sister but never the others
sometimes i think thats why i cry
because i trust the new guy
i call him dad
hes all ive known
hes the memories i have
you and dad
i had a father i know that
i miss him as much as i can
but im lucky
i have dad
