Love On Fire || Kelly Severide & Leslie Shay

In the briefing room , Boden stood in front of his firehouse with his arms folded.

"Jeff Clarke left obviously last week and I have some other unfortunate news."

"What is it ?" Otis asked him.

"Leslie Shay has withdrawn from 61 completely so we will have two new replacements appearing today."

Gabby swallowed roughly as tears raised in her eyes as the silence enveloped them. Hermann stood up and walked out. 

"I know it's hard due to what happened this past month but don't share any of your own hard personal feelings on them please ?"

No one said a word as two new people walked in. 

"This is Chout and Rick Newhouse, our new paramedic and squad member."

Chout quickly walked over to Gabby and stuck his hand out with a big smile.

"Allen Chout , I heard very great things about you."

That was the same thing Leslie said about her when they first met. Gabby let out a sob before standing up and walking out with Matt following behind her. He had dragged her into his room before shutting the door.

"Gabby , calm down."

"I can't calm down ! The last thing I said to her was that it was her fault Darryl died, not to mention before that I blamed her for Clarice treating her like shit. Now she just disappeared with Jeff out of all people ?"

"You don't know that ?"

"I have a feeling , she's my best friend." Gabby said before sitting down on the bed and crying again. Matt sat beside her and brought her into his arms. 

"I'm so sorry."

The rest of the day the Firehouse was uncomfortably quiet. Chout later found out about how close Leslie and Gabby were, only after screaming at him for taking Shay's spot. Rick Newhouse had no problems since he was a like able man and way more talk active then Jeff who was consistently quiet.

Severide walked into Chief's office with Casey and Boden shook his head.

"Not now guys."

"Not now ? Gabby's having breakdown every ten minutes and made Chout cry after yelling at him and Hermann has been out of it all day." Matt Casey told him before sitting down. "Where did Leslie go ?"

"Yeah where did she go ?" Severide asked. Boden raised an eyebrow at him.

"I thought you two hated each other."

"We were starting to become friends , that's why I'm asking."

"She went to get her head on straight. That's all I'm allowed to say."

"Chief-"

"I know you two have paperwork to do."

The two Lieutenant's got up and walked out and went to their rooms and shutting their doors. Matt sighed at Gabby who was laying his bed , asleep with a red nose. She has been a mess since they found out and it's getting to the point that Chief was going to call a replacement for her to get it together.

Kelly looked down at his phone at the messages between him and Leslie, his eyes not leaving the last one.

He put his phone down and looked up at the ceiling. He hated that he missed her.

But he also hated how he missed her body.
