Addison Stands

[We switch back to school once again, where Principal Lee is making an announcement. Zed and Eliza are at their lockers. Zed is holding his wrist in pain. Eliza notices and closes her locker.]

Principal Lee: Alright Mighty Shrimp, today's the day we've all been waiting for! It's the homecoming game!

Eliza: Look, I'm all for trampling the system and the opposing team, but you really gotta stop messing with your z-band, okay? It's not safe.

"She's right, you could really get hurt doing this Zed." Addison shared. She was concerned about him. She didn't want him to have to change himself just to be accepted into their society. Now that it was being shown to her, their ideals were pretty screwed up. Maybe they could change that once this was over.

Zed: It's just one more game to get through.

Eliza: And the no more hacking your z-band?

Zed: Yeah, totally.

Eliza: Okay.

[Stacey, Lacey, and Tracey are snooping in the background. As Eliza and Zed leave, they walk forward, realizing.]

Tracey: Zed's cheating.

Lacey: He's been hacking his -

Stacey: Z-band.

[The three smirk, smug looks on their faces. Tracey snaps, and they turn around, walking off to find Bucky.]

"What are you three planning? Hm?" Wynter thinks out loud, then growls at them. The Aceys shrink back.

[Addison is walking up the stairs to class when Zed stops her. She turns around to face him. As he's apologizing, Addison cuts him off.]

Zed: Addison! Last night, I wanted to help when the Zombie Patrol arrived, but I was just, I was afraid that-

Addison: Zed! It's not your fault. The big problem is my parents won't let me cheer until they meet you.

[Zed smiles, and winks at her while clicking his tongue.]

Zed: Great! So I'll just win them over with my quick wit and charming smile.

Addison: No, not great. They don't know you're a zombie.

[Zed nods in understanding, and his face falls.]

Zed: And they hate zombies.

Addison: Yeah. I'm so sorry.

Zed: I'm sorry. For making things difficult for you.

"You have nothing to apologize for Zed. You didn't do anything wrong." Addison comforts and Zed smiles, hugging her.

Dave and Missy turn to him, and Dave starts to speak, "It doesn't matter that you're a zombie, as long as you care for our daughter and don't want to hurt her, you're okay in my book."

"Thank you, sir! And I promise I would never do anything to intentionally hurt Addison. She's amazing." Zed beamed. Dave and Missy both smiled in return.

Addison: No! No, you haven't done anything wrong besides being you. And you're great.

[Zed looks down at her words. Addison huffs, and stands firm.]

Addison (cont.): You know what? If my family can't accept zombies, maybe I don't wanna be a cheerleader anymore.

Zed: But you love cheer. It's what makes you, you.
