Willow pulls his knees to his chest
he lays down his head
and weeps beneath the trees
he weeps for his life
he weeps for his death
he weeps for the gun at his side
and the bullet it holds
for the humans
for they do not know their fate
he weeps for the dying land
and slaughtered people
he weeps for divided nations
the wind wraps him in a hug
and begs him not to go
Willow weeps
it whisks through his hair
Willow weeps
it kisses his face
Willow weeps
There are things coming that we cannot see
some have already arrived
drought
famine
and
war
he cannot take it
reaching for his gun
Willow weeps for the world

My Death In Poetry
PoetryMy Death in Poetry is a collection of my poetry. These are more of my dark, "depressing" works. If you enjoy somber poetry, you'll love this book!
