Sometimes you don't need labels to know the person will always be with you, not needing to say I love you to know the person will always trust and love you
Kashuu was the first-ever sword that arrived in the citadel, he has gone through many paths with me both thick and thin, rough and smooth.
We're each other's sunshine in the rain when it's pouring giving each other needed space or comfort whenever needed.
In a way you could say we're both similar yet different, we both compliment each other in astounding ways, one could even say we were partners from a past life, or twin flames fated to meet.
Whatever it was, we both agreed that we felt an immense spiritual pull to each other, regardless if he was in a physical form in the citadel or the museum I can't deny the massive pull felt towards Kashuu and neither could Kashuu himself.
Maybe that's why the thought of parting ways with each other once the war ends leaves a deep cut in both our hearts. We both knew we were meeting the end of the line. Of course we're happy that everything went as planned that there was no need to shed more blood, sweat and tears, it's going to be a happy ending...But the thought of leaving each other to different worlds is a different story altogether.
"We'll meet again!" putting on a cheerful smile I comforted the beautiful being, though the tears that left both our eyes are not easily ignored.
Pulling each other to a tight embrace we both savored what may be our last time together.
"I'll miss you" he muttered under his breath just enough for me to hear it.
"Stop it, you're acting as though we'll never see each other again" I tried to be positive and lift up his mood but it was fruitless, though I knew that it was close to impossible to ever meet him again in his human form once the war end I had to keep up a cheerful smile and leave with happy memories of each other.
"You never cease to amaze me with that cheery attitude of yours, for once won't you be sentimental with me" Kashuu jokingly added, followed by our faint chuckles.
Tomorrow will be the day, the day where we'll end it once and for all, and I'm having Kashuu as captain trusting him wholeheartedly, he has gone through the most battles in this citadel and I believe that he'll do great. Taking his hand in mine I fished out an omamori I recently made packed with herbs and my pendant and placed it in his hand.
"This will be the last omamori I'm gifting you as Saniwa of this citadel, come back victorious with a smile on your face and happiness in your eyes,-----Before battle----- no matter what, know that I, will and always love each and every one of you, thank you for gifting me memories far beyond my expectations, with this I pray for a successful battle I pray that you will emerge victoriously and lastly I pray for your safe return Home"
Everyone by now was either crying or holding back their tears especially the group that was getting ready to be sent out Kogitsunemaru, Mikazuki Munechika, Kasen Kanesada, Hotarumaru, Taroutachi and lastly Kashuu Kiyomitsu. Kashuu knowing that guy he'd be sobbing by now but he's standing there tall and confident, ready to be dispatched with the last order by his beloved Saniwa, with the last nod Kashuu and his team went off.
After sending them off, I left with the rest of the swords to spend our last moments together, making more memorable memories before leaving each other once more.
Funny is it, I remember stepping into the citadel and being greeted by none other than Kashuu Kiyomitsu himself, it was a funny encounter, I remember being all over him because of how elegant he portrayed himself every day, though our first few memories were of being with each other it slowly increased with even more of that of the other swords, with Jiji's weirdly calm laughter filling the room every once in a while, Gokotai's tiger being all over the place, Mitsutada's cooking skills, Hasebe's constant nagging and who could forget Tsurumaru's antics once in a while, a life without them sure will be boring but that's how we're fated to be.
"We're back!" Catching a glimpse of the red scarf I immediately ran towards the figure and embraced him.
"As we promised, we're home safe (y/n)" Kashuu whispered while returning the hug.
~~~
"(y/n)? Hey (y/n)! Quit daydreaming will you?"
"Oh! Sorry" snapping out of my mind I cheekily apologized.
It's only been a few months since I left the citadel, sometimes I would stop by the museum to look at the swords and honestly as painful as it was to know that I can never see them in their human form again and interact with them like usual I was glad that they didn't have to succumb themselves to any more pain on the battlefield. Now I just continue living my life before being the saniwa I was.
Today was another day I decided to visit the museum, to be exact I decided to visit Kashuu. I've been to the museum so many times that the people working there basically knew me by now.
"Again (y/n)? Don't you ever get bored of it?"
"Nope, these swords are just too beautiful to be bored of" throwing the usual cheesy line they just left with a friendly wave, leaving me to my own routine.
Walking towards Kashuu I just stared at the blade and thought back to how many battles I've sent him out for and rarely does he get hurt, but when he does it always pained me to see how down he'd get. He always kept himself in his term "beautiful" and no matter how close we were he's still worried about being unloved no matter how many times I told him that that'll never happen. Sighing I stepped back without looking and bumped into someone.
"Oh my, I'm sorry I wasn't looking" seeing that there were piles of books and documents scattered on the floor I immediately bent down to help the guy out.
"No it's fine I can-" that voice...Before I could look up, the word I've not heard in months suddenly rang in my ear...Looking up I was met with a pair of red orbs and brown hair that was now short.
"Aruji..." him saying this confirmed my aching suspicion and immediately cried tears of joy, engulfing him in my arms.
No matter when or where our souls will always find a way to each other.
"I'm home, (y/n)"
