There are some parts of my life that wish lasted longer
Maybe the memories I do have would be a little
stronger
More vivid in my mind as I try to define
The features of my dads face
While I chase down those
Summers with my grandma.
Staying up so late
my body ached.
hot dogs, full tubs of icing,
and Eggo waffles as far as the eye could see.
Visiting my Nunny at the nursing home,
before she passed.
Collecting bottle tabs off of every soda can
to take to the hospital while my Grandad was in
chemo
before he passed.
Hugging my mom without having to travel the distance.
All these moments in time
freeze framed in my mind
I hope they last a little while longer.
