I still can't believe I dropped out half way through year 11. Now that I'm not at school its as though a major burden has been lifted off my shoulders. It's also good, because I can now practise my photography even more; not that I have any idea where I want to take it but, I know I want to take it as far as possible. Even though my parents weren't overly happy with me dropping out I know that they'll be happy as soon as my photography can impress them.

My phone vibrated and a message from an online game my friend, Ruel and I used to play. Ever since I met Ruel in 2016, I had liked the name so when young singer Ruel Van Dijk from Sydney started topping charts I had to check him out; now he was one of my favourite singers. Even though I didn't know Ruel the singer, I still felt as though I knew him.

I opened the game quickly, I waited impatiently for the game screen to load. While I waited I stared blankly at my computer screen with a photo waiting to be edited. The dark loading screen lit up as a snapchat notification came through.  The snapchat was from the one and only Ruel Van Dijk. My heartbeat skipped at the sight of his name lighting up my screen, impulses told me to open the snapchat, however, I waited; I waited for the game to load and then fumbled as my fingers skipped over the screen. As I opened the message from my friend Ruel, my smile grew larger as my eyes read over his message. I then opened snapchat, and his snap;

I squealed quietly into my hands, which were now clasped around my mouth in disbelief

I squealed quietly into my hands, which were now clasped around my mouth in disbelief. I couldn't believe my friend Ruel was also my celebrity crush, no wonder I had always thought of him as a friend. I took in a deep breath and replied;

I turned my phone off, I had a feeling Ruel would take forever to reply

I turned my phone off, I had a feeling Ruel would take forever to reply. I stared back at my computer screen, the light reflecting off the dew-drops on the flower petals was all wrong; I started playing around on photoshop, trying to get the right light exposure level on the flower and blurring the background. I couldn't work though, my mind was on Ruel, entirely on Ruel.  I put a hand against my cheek and rested my elbow on the table, staring the blue-light of the computer screen. My phone buzzed again with a chat from Ruel.

Ruel: >> Isn't it really late for you? <<

Me: >> Yeah, but i don't sleep <<

Ruel: >> same <<
