"Clementine, come closer" he said as he began tucking her into her bed.

He held her head and laid her on his arm as they both were laying on the bed.

"Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin' Clementine.

Thou art lost and gone forever,

Dreadful sorry Clementine."

He sang the children song 'Clementine' as he hummed the tune for Clementine to sleep.

He looked at Clementine and saw her eyes were closed. He knew Clementine was already asleep.

Clementine. My dear child. Sleep well.

He laid his child on the bed and kissed her forehead before turning the lamp off on the table beside the bed.

He went to his room and got on his bed and went to sleep.

The next day, he went to the lake where both Clementine and him used to go fishing.

He brought Clementine with him and they both sat on the large log near the lake.

He brought his fishing rod to catch fish.

"You know Clementine, it's too dangerous for you to swim there. You know you can't swim right? I can't swim too so we're both stucked here, " he said as he looked at Clementine.

He sighed and went on to catch some fish. After awhile, he caught one and showed it to Clementine.

"Look Clementine! I caught one!" he gleefully exclaimed.

"You're not looking my child," he said as he pouted at Clementine.

He put the fish inside the bucket and catch more fish from the lake.

After they've caught a lot of fish, they decided to go home and cook it.

As they walked home, he saw a familiar woman.

"Clementine, you should hide here first."He said as he advised and carry Clementine and hid her behind the bushes near their house.

"Don't make a sound Clementine, "he said and he smiled at her.

He went towards the house and talked to the familiar person. They went inside the house and he offered her tea.

"I'm glad you came by to visit," he said as he poured hot tea on the cup and gave it to the woman.

"I just came by to say to you that they still haven't find her," she said as drank her cup of tea.

"By they, who do you mean?" he asked as he also drank his tea.

"The police. They've searched around the area where it happened but they couldn't find her." She said and she began to weep.

"You need to stop investigating the case. She's gone," he said.

"Have you lost your mind? You're telling me to stop looking for our child? What kind of father are you?"she asked as she stood up.

"It's your fault she's gone! If you didn't keep your eyes off of her on that lake, she would still be-"she said and she began to cry.

She walked toward the front door. She opened it and she went outside and banged the door to close it.

He went to the front door and went outside. He went to where he hid Clementine and brought her inside the house.

"I'm sorry Clementine. I can't tell your mother that I have now found you. She would freak out. I hope you understand Clem." He said as he kissed his daughter's forehead and sat beside her.

She was laying in her bed and her dad was caressing her hair softly. As he caressed her hair, he noticed that some strands of her hair were beginning to come off. She also excreted a foul stench from her but he ignored it.

He is sure Clementine is fine.

He began to hum a song and then he sang.

"Ruby lips above the water

Blowing bubbles soft and fine

But alas, I was no swimmer

So I lost my Clementine.

How I missed her! How I missed her!

How I missed my Clementine-" he stopped singing and he sobbed.

He started to reminisce something.

He went to the lake with Clementine. They were so happy while they were fishing.

Clementine ran toward the lake and played with the water. Her dad was watching her play in the water.

He told her not to go deeper on the lake for she can't swim and also he can't swim.

And then, Clementine saw a fish on the water and she followed it. She felt that the water where she's in is already high. She can't swim. Neither can her dad.

She began panicking. She screamed at the top of her lungs for her dad to hear her. And then when her dad came to rescue, he realized he can't swim.

It was so hard to reach Clementine for she was on the deep part of the lake. He tried to swam but the water devoured him.

He woke up in the hospital and he saw his wife crying. He asked her where's Clementine and she has no idea.

He went to the lake to find Clementine. On the 7th day of his search, he saw her.

He saw her on the water. She was floating and she's pale, bloated and lifeless.

"In my dreams, she still doth haunt me,

Robe in garments, soaked in brine.

Then she rises from the water

And I kiss my Clementine."

He held her on his arms.

"Clementine, I'm glad I've found you."

He went back to reality and he hugged Clementine's lifeless body.

"We're never going to be apart now, my Clementine." He said as he kissed her forehead again before humming the song again.
