Only for you || A Ushijima Wakatoshi Ff

•chapter twenty-seven•

It's been a month since the preliminaries. But also a month since Chiyoko had contacted me. It was sudden, a little too sudden. The last text she had sent me was congratulating us for our win. I sent her a text everyday, I even called her. But no response.

"Did she tell you anything?" I asked Nyoko.

"No man, I'm telling you, we haven't heard from her as well!"

"Well, at first I thought she might be busy, but then its been way too long...." Shiori's eyebrows knitted.

"Well we have practice now so let's go."

"Maiko!" I felt someone hold my hand. Of course my Lamp Post.

Ever since he said he wanted to be more open with affection, he's been randomly coming up to me to give me a hug or hold my hand as we walk together. It was cuter than expected. Him holding me made me forget about all the troubles I have in life. This Lamp Post was slowly turning into my Big Bear 🐻

After the Preliminaries, he was only expected at practice for one or two days a week. Though he went for three because he wanted to pass the try-outs for the national team. I know he can make it, I knew it would be a piece of cake for him. But he didn't let all his wins get to his head. Which just made me respect him as a volleyball player so much more.

On his free days, he would come to see me practice.

"It's like I have a personal assistant or something," I chuckled as he handed me a towel to wipe my sweat. We were on a 5 minute break. I sat down and he sat with me.

"Only for you...." He stared at me as I drank water. "But you should bend just a little bit more and take off more quicker when you spike. You'll jump higher."

"Yes, Coach Ushijima~" I smiled at him. Ah he's too cute someone please save me.

Practice resumed. Practice had been going smoothly and I could see everyone was confident. Even if they made mistakes it didn't get into their head. I felt like a proud dad looking at them practice.

Nyoko tossed the ball to me and I kept Wakatoshi's tip in mind. Though I thought I didn't do it right, I did jump a little higher than usual. As I landed I looked at him and he had a content look on his face.

After practice, he walked me to the dorm.

"You know," he said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah?"

"Ever since we started dating, I've been happier than usual,"

My heart stopped at those words.

"Before, I usually didn't feel anything. Just practice, study, eat sleep. But ever since you came into my life...I feel much more lighter and happier."

I hugged him. "You make me happy too Wakatoshi. You make me forget about all the worries I have in life. I feel so stress-free around you," 

He kissed my forehead. "And it's been two months," he chuckled.

"We have a looooonnggg way to go, Wakatoshi." I smiled at him.

"On a seperate note. I want to give you a nickname. Not puppy plush cutie patootie or some shit," I laughed as we started walking and he laughed with me.

"How about Toshi?"

"Hmm any other options?"

"Waka?"

"You literally just split your name in half."

"Then I've run out of ideas."

"Okay fine, you're Toshi for now. If I can come up with something I'll let you know,"

We reached the dorm and before went in I pecked his lips.

So um this was kind of a fier chapter 😅 but I kinda came up with Maiko's character design.....

Now I'll let you all know I don't do digital art very often so its....not so good but like enough
