The next day was a pretty normal day for Bridgett, except for one thing. She only had to work once a month, and work day meant trouble. She knew protecting a zapfish was a pretty big deal, and she liked protecting the little cuties, but she liked the zapfish SO bad, that one time she went on strike because she was signed up to become an elite, but protecting a zapfish wasn't in the elite "skill set" when she did liked doing it too much.
But this time was different. She was signed up to join the elite, if she did enough. But for her, that would make her give up her old lifestyle and protecting zapfish, which she did not like at all. If I do terribly today, then I won't be an elite, and maybe I'll see Cam during this shift,Bridgett thought to herself, but if I do too well today... well, that won't happen. That could never happen. But it might... No way!
She vowed to do her worst. And then, she wouldn't have to join the elite. But if they do make me join... Bridgett said to herself as she entered the pothole she went into every work day, I can still say no, right?
