Silent Love

There's something intriguing in your soul,
something suggesting you're not whole,
it calls to me as the old bell tolls
and sings in the dusk of a dangerous goal.

There's some part of you that pulls me in,
a peril so great I fear to begin
the descent into this love, this sin,
and those we offend if love should win.

There's something I recognise in you,
suggesting someday we could be two,
I wonder again, can you guess who
burns with the strangeness of loving you?
