Even with life as hectic as mine, in a city as unforgiving as Hellsalem's Lot, I managed to find a friend.

"So you have a brother?"
Roy asked, we were talking about our families.

"Yeah! He's my sunflower Hero~."
I laughed at this nickname, I began calling him that when I was four, and I still do.

"Jeez, what a nickname!"
He laughed.

"Come on! I was four when I thought of it!"
I laughed along.

I then remembered what he calls me.
"Better if you judge him, he's 25 and still calls me 'Lily Of The Valley'."
I snickered, Roy had a slightly surprised expression.

"Don't those symbolize happiness?"
He asked.

I thought of what he said.

Then sighed.

"I don't think he went into some meaning, he calls me that because real Lily's of the valley are small and always look down."
I explained with a happy smile.

"So does that mean you call him Sunflower Hero because sunflowers are big and always look towards the sun?"
He asked with a chuckle.

"Well..."
I blushed a little.
"... Yeah..."

I gripped the back of my neck shyly.

It's not that me calling him a nickname is embarrassing, it's more that I honestly miss him.

He's still working hard, doing his best to help my mom financially up in Florida, despite his injuries.

I'm surprised at how well he's coming along with such a wound.

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts.

"I haven't asked you about your family yet."
I realized.

Roy's eternal smile died down.
"I... God damn it, it's a bit hard to say..."
He sighed.

"You don't have to talk about it."
I felt angry at myself for bringing up something that might be hurtful to him.

"N-no, it's alright."
He muttered, then sighed, gathering his determination to speak.

"I only have my sisters, my parents died during The Great Collapse."

The Great Collapse.

A thing to wonder about.

It was tragic when it happened five years ago.

Many people were separated from their loved ones, many others lost the homes they were used to and had to adapt to a completely new place.

"Oh jeez... I'm really sorry that happened."
I said, concern shining through my voice.

Roy sighed.
"It's alright, I guess..."
He looked down at his hands, I could swear he was on the verge of tears.
"I still have my sisters, and I cherish them every day."

A sad smile formed his expression, which grew happier.

"They truly are the best. Even though they constantly tease me, I can't love anyone more than them."
By now, that sad expression was gone.

We talked on for a few minutes more when I caught sight of the time.

"Oh shit! I think you're going to be late soon!"
He had to leave for reasons I still didn't know.

"Crap, right!"
He flinched.

We both ran down to his house, from where I would walk to Libra when the two of us were pulled into an alleyway.
