Shuyang's POV.

"Shit." One of them says, not looking at me.

"Quick." The other says and they fly away.

"Wait!-" It was too late. They were gone.

I try to run for them but luckily, I managed to catch up but they haven't seen me.

Who were they?

Mingrui's POV.

As Zeyu and I fly away, I hear the boy shout 'wait' as we left.

It was so familiar.

It was Shuyang.

"Zeyu ge... It was Shuyang who saw us." I said as we landed on a tree branch.

"What?! Shuyang?!" The older says in disbelief.

"I know... We need to go back a soon as-"

"Hey! Who the hell are you?!" A voice shouts from beneath us.

"None of your business." I say, voice shaking.

"Tell me who you are and what you're doing here!" Shuyang shouts.

My lips tremble at his tone, I've never seen him like this. What did we do to him?

"Go away, kid. It's none of your business." I say and get ready to take flight until Zeyu ge held my hand, restricting my movement.

"Gou Gou, I think it's time to tell him." Zeyu ge says.

"You have the same name as my dog?" He says to which we ignore.

"Zeyu ge... He can only know when he's 15." I say, unsure of what to do.

"His birthday is today, remember?" He says, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"But it's 2 am." I say. I just wanted Shuyang to know me as his dog and nothing else. I don't want anything to change.

"I'm scared." I blurted out and Zeyu looked at me worriedly.

"I-I don't want anything to change between us..." I pause for a bit.

"W-What if he'll throw me away and get a new dog?" I ask, trembling from the cold.

"He would never do that. I'm sure." The older reassured.

"Xinlong knows about me in this form but he never threw me out because I've been with him for so long." Zeyu said.

"But-"

"No buts. Tell him." He says.

"Okay." I say and jump off the tree, landing on my feet.

"So, who are you?"
