"Okay, Sebastian, let me take a little timeout." I panted. "I need to breathe." I dropped myself on a bench at the edge of the playground. This kid has SO MUCH energy!

"Okay, Y/N! Mommy, can Frankie play?" Sebastian ran up to his mother  who stood not too far from me.

"Frankie is too little to play in the playground. Would you like a snack while you wait for Y/N?" Vanessa was the stricter parent of the Mirandas. "Of course, that would mean resting for a little bit after you eat."

"Nooooooooo!" Sebastian rocketed off into the playground running around on his own until another child approached him. They chatted and then started running around the playground.

"Where do they get the energy?" Vanessa mumbled.

"Especially in this weather." I nodded looking at the grey clouds and pushing my hands deeper in my pockets. Vanessa turned and looked at me with a genuine smile. I sunk into the bench a little.

"I'm surprised you chose to spend the first week with us. I mean, I thought you wanted to work in entertainment one day? Feels like it would make more sense for you to be on set..." My sweater felt too tight around my throat all of a sudden. I scratched my neck to try and hide the fact that I pulled on my collar. Being on set would be fantastic, but sets have trailers and Lin and I would potentially be alone... There's no way I'd be able to resist him...

"Uhm, I do... But Sebastian wanted me to spend more time with him this week... It's been awhile since I've sat for you guys... I couldn't say no to Sebastian..." Vanessa nodded at my barely cohesive response.

"That and Lin is very bold while I'm more of an opportunist."

"I... I..." Did I say something out loud or can she read my mind? I don't want to talk about last night!

"Well, I knew we'd have to address last night sooner or later."

"Uhm..." Later. I pick later!

"Excuse me?" A woman's voice interrupted. We turned to the lady. She had pale skin and blonde hair spilling out from underneath a beanie that matched her burgundy lipstick. We smiled politely. "I'm Terra Wick. You're son's playing with my son. They seem to be getting along well."

"Yes, hi, I'm Vanessa. This is my assistant." I nodded and smiled at the woman.

"You don't seem to be from around here?" Terra asked.

"No, we aren't. We are visiting. My husband is here working. We're from the US."

"Really?" Terra launched into a conversation with Vanessa. Well, at least I'm safe from this conversation for a little while longer... I scooted off the bench to watch Sebastian and Terra's son play.

"If people here are that long winded, we aren't going out anymore." I tried to hold back my laughter. Vanessa eyed me warily. "And notice how I introduced you when we met someone new." Ouch.

"What should we order for lunch?" I asked clearing my throat.

"What are you ordering the boys?"

"Tomato soup and grilled cheese."

"I'll have pizza and salad after the boys are down for their nap. We can have lunch together. A little girls' time. Okay?" I nodded with a small smile and called the boys' lunch order in.

"I don't understand why they don't just include a kitchen in these grande hotel rooms." I pondered. The boys were both down by the time our lunch was delivered.

"More work for the hotel. It's easier this way." Vanessa said between bites.

"Hm. I guess so." I picked at my salad then picked up another slice of pizza.

"I think we all got carried away last night." Vanessa  said out of the blue. I froze mid-chew. We were still having this conversation? I struggled to swallow the pizza in my mouth. It went down like a rock.

"Yeah..." I cleared my throat.

"I know it wasn't ideal for me to be there..."

"Vanessa, I didn't... I didn't approach Lin. I swear. I swear." I interrupted. Vanessa focused on me then sighed and stood.

"I know you didn't. It's Lin. He can't control himself when he's alone with you. He can barely control himself when he's around you." She said nonchalantly. "He confessed to me recently."

"He did...?" I watched her move around the table.

"Yup." Vanessa put her hands on my shoulders and massaged me. "He said... He said something happens when he's too close to you." She whispered in my ear. I took a shaky breath.

"Really?" I barely squeaked out.

"Yes." Vanessa's warm breath on my ears made goosebumps raise on my arms. "Something about seeing you and smelling you and...tasting you." Vanessa licked my neck and I jumped out of my seat. Vanessa smiled innocently while my heart felt like it would bust out of my chest.

"I should head to my room. I haven't called Brian. My boyfriend." I tried to speak steadily, then turned on my heel.

"Go ahead and call him. It won't change the fact that you guys haven't actually slept together yet." I froze. How could she...know? I whipped around to look her in the eyes. She looked a little surprised and amused.

"That's not true... And... it's none of your business." Vanessa's looked at me like I'd mistakenly challenged her.

"It's kinda my business. Did you forget one of those forms you signed was regarding your personal health. You basically signed away your body." It was my turn to look surprised.

"I didn't... I remember what I signed. It was for the health benefits and stuff..."

"Yeah, we pay for it. We pick your doctor. We get to know what's going on with your health. It's not insurance per se. It's the Miranda's. You are for the Miranda's."

"But I didn't... I didn't..."

"You ordered birth control a couple weeks ago, but it never made it to you right?" My eyes widened. "Yeah, I have it. You didn't say anything about 'Brian' so I needed to figure out who you were trying to sleep with. Plus, I figured Lin would probably get with you at some point, so I had to make sure you stayed clean. For Lin, not me. But then you told me I was beautiful and I'd be lying if I said I didn't notice how you watch me. You have a crush. Not on Lin. On me." She approached me.

"Vanessa, you sound insane." I backed away from her.

"I know. I know. But I've seen you watch me. It's nice. You look at me like...like I'm a work of art. And you're respectful too. So loyal. I see what Lin sees. I want you too." I shook my head.

"Vanessa, stop. Stop it..."

"You don't have to fight it. I know you're scared. You don't understand it. You don't want to be pushed away, but we like you. We like you a lot. That's what last night was. It was a show of appreciation." She cornered me. "And of course, we would never force you to do anything without your consent."

"Did you guys plan last night?" Vanessa didn't say anything. She just smiled slyly.

"You should go call your boyfriend." She whispered then walked away leaving me confused against the wall then she paused, "Lin won't be back until late. So, I expect you to still be here after the boys are put to bed. Don't disappoint me."
