Narrator's POV
Jeongyeon didn't know what made her do it, but she did it anyway. It's been a few days and she's already recorded 2 demos but she isn't really sure about those. But this morning, she woke up with the sudden motive to create a ballad. A simple, piano based ballad. She had absolutely no knowledge on the piano, but she searched up chords on the internet and managed to learn all the keys and a variety of chords within 2 hours.
Based off the chords, she had a simple idea on how the melody would go. Now it was just the lyrics. She didn't know where it came from, but the lyrics came out naturally as if she had written those exact words before. It definitely expressed the feeling of love and how to express it. As well as staying by that special person's side. After another hour and a half, she had accomplished in writing the whole song. Now it was the best part. Putting the vocals and music together. From the outside, Seungyeon could hear her little sister singing into the mic. Even without the track to accompany her, she still sounded amazing. Referring to the melody, the song sounded great too.
Jeongyeon touched up on a couple more notes, backing vocals etc. She played it one last time, now through the speakers. She herself couldn't believe her own ears, when the melodious song played through. This song could either make you cry or feel dramatic. She knew this was the one. Whoever got this song in the company will definitely gain success and popularity.
"You wrote and composed that?"
Jeongyeon turned around in her chair to see someone she wasn't expecting, but didn't mind at all.
"Mina."
"Hi. Sorry if I barged in. I thought I would visit you today. Your sister let me in by the way."
"No problem. Come in."
Mina was amazed at what Jeongyeon was doing. Usually she would be confused, staring at the editing program and probably get something deleted. But after what she heard come out through the speakers, Jeongyeon losing her memory might have opened something new. Mina went to sit on the couch and looked at Jeongyeon add a few more things to the track.
"Did you uhm, hear the whole song?" Jeongyeon asked why scratching her nape.
"No, just the last bit don't worry."
"You want to hear the whole thing? Mayb I can get some advice since you're into this kind of stuff. "
"Sure."
"What is it called?"
"My Love." Jeongyeon answered. (Real song : My Love by Baekhyun.)
Jeongyeon played the song once more and Mina listened to every detail of the song. She had no problems with it so far. Mina didn't even know that Jeongyeon had the capability of producing one amazing song by herself, at home. When she heard the lyrics, it wasn't really a sad song. But having it accompanied by the piano and just Jeongyeon's voice made it 10x more emotional. Mina was very close to crying because the song was so perfect and just... Perfect.
"So... What do you think?" Jeongyeon asked.
"It's perfect. I'm kinda speechless you produced this all by yourself."
"Okay, believe it or not I searched up 'piano chords and notes' online and watched a quick video to play the piano."
Mina chuckled at the cute and clueless Jeongyeon which was still evident.
"You learned everything today?"
"Yeah."
"I heard a guitar in there too. You play it?" Mina knew the answer but she just wanted to see.
