Side by side Izzy and I are walking the same route to school that we know off by heart. Just as always, Izzy is babbling along the whole way about anything and everything. By now, I’ve learned how to tune her out, occasionally throwing in a few ‘okays’ or ‘oh really?s’ whenever she pauses but today she has some good gossip.
“Believe it or not, we’ve got a newbie in our year! He’s called Dylan and he’s in like all your classes!” Izzy explains excitedly.
“Oh yeah, what’s he like?” I ask intrigued.
“Good looking but very reclusive and depressing.”
“How can you possibly know this even when he hasn’t started school yet?” I ask shaking my head, astonished by all the information she has.
“Well, Amy who’s friends with Rachel, who’s mum is deputy head, told me,” she explains.
“Okay then, so is he in today?”
“Yep. Why? Are you looking forward to seeing him?” She teases.
“No, I was just…wondering.”
