Obito couldn't help but feel conflicted. (Y/n) was such a good sister, like, to an embarrassing extent. If she wasn't on a mission outside of the village, Itachi was most likely by his sister's side. It was cute, so cute, but it was also incredibly annoying. Obito had probably known (Y/n) longer than she knew him... it wasn't as creepy as it sounded to anyone outside of himself, Obito tried to reason. He hadn't been stalking (Y/n) since they were like, four, he was just watching her closely because she was honestly awesome. He just really liked her, and from what he'd heard from Rin and Minato-sensei, she liked him too! Maybe her feelings weren't as intense as his, but she liked him, and that was all that mattered to Obito. She'd been getting close with Rin, though. They're both girls so maybe they were doing girl things. (Y/n), of course, told him yesterday that Rin was taking her out on a friendly outing. He didn't think she was lying, because (Y/n) wasn't the type of person to lie about something so petty, but Rin was another story.

As much as Obito adored her, Uchiha (Y/n) could be amazingly dense. Gai flirted with her all of the time and she thought he was just being friendly, the kid wasn't shy about kissing up to her, either! Obito was easily jealous, but there was no way that (Y/n) would ever get with... with Beast Face. Maybe, Obito thought, standing outside of Ichiraku's, she never cared much for looks. She hung out with Bakashi all of the time. Yet another thing that made Obito jealous. Hatake Kakashi was Obito's rival. Both as a ninja and as a love-rival. He didn't like to admit it, but Kakashi was cool, and he was (Y/n)'s friend, which meant that he probably had a better chance at gaining (Y/n)'s affections. Not too great for Obito, but he's taking her on a date, so he's getting there!

Looking over his shoulder, Obito sees none other than (Y/n) herself, and thankfully no one else was tagging along with her. Obito was half expecting Itachi to be trailing behind her, but the small Uchiha child was nowhere to be seen.

Noticing that he was looking at her, (Y/n) raised her hand and waved at Obito, a smile coming onto her face. Out of both her teammates, (Y/n) had the feeling that she spent less time with Obito. She liked him, though. He was a nice kid and almost always treated her kindly. Unlike most Uchiha's (Y/n)'s age, Obito didn't see her as the Chief's daughter, he saw her as a teammate and a friend, that was why she liked him so much. It was hard, though. Kakashi and Rin were always dragging her somewhere and as a product of that she barely ever got to hang out with Obito. Honestly, that's why she agreed so quickly to come and meet with him for some ramen. Hanging out with him was the main idea, getting some ramen in the process was just a bonus.

He wasn't Kakashi, so Obito didn't just sit there and look at (Y/n) while she ate. He had caught the silver-haired boy doing that a few times and Obito wasn't sure how he was supposed to react. (Y/n) never seemed to notice and he guessed that it was better that way, but Obito couldn't help but want to tell her about it. Not that he would, Kakashi would've kicked his ass, but Obito felt bad about her being left in the dark about Kakashi's weirdness. It wasn't like Obito and Rin didn't have their weird tendencies, because they did, it was just that Kakashi sometimes took it to a new level. He was weird, and Obito was disturbed when he thought about it.

Why was he still thinking of Kakashi when he was alone with her? It didn't make any sense to Obito. He'd been soaking in his jealousy ever since the became a team and his feelings were only getting more intense. Even Minato-sensei seemed to be close with her, more than Obito at least. He hated it. His desires weren't weird like Kakashi's, or selfish like Rin's, he just wanted to spend more time with (Y/n). She was awesome, and who doesn't like to be around amazing people? No one, unless they're ego was supremely huge.

'People like Bakashi.' Obito thought to himself, placing his chin in his hand as they finished their bowls of ramen. Just to spite his silver-haired teammate, Obito had refused to watch her eat at all, and he felt quite proud of himself because of it. He had more self-control than Kakashi and he was reveling in it. The two of them waved Teuchi goodbye and left Ichiraku. (Y/n) looked happy, no sense of paranoia left in her mind. It was odd, to see her so relaxed, she must have enjoyed their outing. 'Is it okay to call it a date in my mind?'

"Hey, Obito," (Y/n) started, slowing her steps down. She had been in front of him, too much pep in her step. "Thank you for taking me out. The truth is, I've been so busy with my younger brothers and missions lately so I haven't gotten to relax. I appreciate you doing this for me!" She turns around and grasps both of his hands in hers and Obito can feel his face, ears, and neck start to heat up. He suddenly feels embarrassed because he knows that his face is most likely red, but he only nods his head in agreement. "Yeah, sure, I mean... I had a lot of fun hanging out with you! We should do it more often, right?"

Obito openly cringes at his words, his neck feeling even hotter as his embarrassment intensifies. He sounded almost like he was begging.

     "Of course!"

He could feel his heart beating in his chest, but this feeling wasn't necessarily a bad one.

     He liked it.
