My breakfast with jhayvee got postponed since he has an urgent meeting to attend and that's fine for me. Its not like I literally look forward to it but... There's this pang-hihinayang in me. Sayang kasi yung libreng pagkain!
"Magandang Umaga, Dra. Mercedes!" bati sa akin ni nurse kaila. I smiled at her and give her a nod.
The hospital right now weren't that busy and occupied kaya naman puro check up lang ang ginagawa naming lahat. I give some patient a smile and wave.
Dumiretso ako sa opisina ko at naupo sa swivel chair. Sinandal ko ang likod ko at iniharap sa salaming bintana ang upuan. I yawned and stretched a little.
Bahagya kong nilingon ang mga regalo na nasa lamesa sa gilid. Ang mga regalo na iyon ay galing sa mga iilang katrabaho ko na lalaki at ang iba naman sa mga bisita na sa tingin ko nagustuhan ako. But one gift caught my attention. Kulay pula ang balot niya at maganda ang pagkakabalot. Kung titingnan iisipin ko na babae ang nagbalot noon.
Tumayo ako at dinampot iyon. I examine it while walking back and forth. Marahan kong tinapik iyon bago ilapag sa mismong table ko. I carefully destroy the wrapper.
Isang pulang damit. It was a Stringed Red dress that will reach up to my knees. Nakunot ang noo ko at sinubukang silipin ang loob ng box. There's a small note.

Napatalon ako ng may kumatok sa pintuan ko. It flew open revealing Macsin, My assistant. She's a nurse in ward area.
"Dra. Mercedes, May invitation po para sa inyo" Aniya sabay abot ng isang kulay pulang imbitasyon sa akin. I nod at her.
I shifted my eyes to dress then back to the letter. That's... Pretty weird. Bakit puro pula? I decided to open the letter and read it. It states there that I was invited to some kind of auction. Ang malilikom daw nila ay idodonate sa home for the ages. It flickered my heart. I would probably attend this! Magi-enjoy na ako makakatulong pa ako.
I set aside the dress and the invitation when My phone rings. I pick it up and answer the call. Still confuse about the sudden dress and sudden invitation.
"Hello?"
"Hi ace!"
I realized that it was ady's voice. Yes. I let people call me ace na. I'm comfortable with it naman so bakit hindi diba.
"Hey, napatawag ka?" I asked. I sit on my swivel chait but still staring at the dress.
"Well, kailan ka bibisita sa akin? Ha?! Aba! Nagagalit na mga inaanak mo!" sighal niya sa akin. Bahagya ko pang inilayo sa tainga ko ang cellphone ko.
"I will soon. I'll ask jhayvee if he can come with me. I need chaperone" I laugh but she didn't that's when I found out I said something wrong.
"Jhayvee? As in Jhayvee Daniel Mendoza?!" She sounds shock "Close kayo?"
"Well, Sort of, Why?" I asked. Bumuntong hininga siya at tsked.
"Wala! Basta bisitahin mo ako! Utos yan! Magagalit si Ally at Ali!"
"My inaanak's name is weird! They sound the same! Ally the girl and ali the boy!" I shouted. Allyson and Alistair is a nice name but... The nicknames were similar.
"Tawag jan, Unique! Aba! Si elliot nga balak pangalanan ng Ivana at matthios ang anak namin! Pinigilan ko lang!"
I laugh. They sure are a weird couple slash weird parents. I pity my inaanak's "Well, At least they don't sound the same!"
"Alam mo? Mag asawa ka na tapos pabuntis ka din kambal! Naiinggit ka lang sa akin!" She laugh so loud and it makes me laugh too.
