~give my heart a holiday~

Time, time is some that everyone eventually runs out. something that was borrowed and you are expected to pay the price for it once yours run out. some have more than others and others had none to begin with.

seonghwa was more than aware of this fact. more than aware of the dull ache that was caused by his heart strings being pulled whenever October came around. he was suddenly reminded that his mom was one of those  people. one of the people whose time was cut short and the only explanation he had been given was from his father was that "time takes all but time heals all."

and even after 13 years now, there was always that wound that time could never heal. it would never fully close and would always bleed if poked just a bit too hard.

he didn't have many memories of her, he was only ten when she died, but the ones he did have he kept dear his heart and valued more than he himself. especially her words.

she always told him " one day when you find that one person who is both your safe space and your greatest adventure, keep them."  of course at eight he didn't understand what that meant, but her words always stayed in the back of his mind playing like a record on repeat.

anyways, as he walked through the office building employees and staff would all quickly move out of his way, trying to avoid being in his line of view as much a possible. every October first they had learned that the park brothers weren't In the accepting mood.

when he had reached his office he was a bit taken aback when he was greeted by a singular cupcake (in a box) and a rose waiting for him, but no sign of who had given it to him.  obviously he didn't question it. only sitting down and staring at the pink petaled flower in front of him

a small note that almost went unnoticed slipping onto his floor. it didn't take him long to figure out who the items were from once the familiar handwriting on the note came into view.

he picked it up, his eyes scanning over it a few times before he read it.

"smile more, it looks nice on you"

and so for the first time that day. thats just what he did.

-_-_-_-

his day had been long and frustrating. from having to fire incompetent employees that allowed a great deal of money to be loss to having to sit in his office and take a breather as to not break down In frustration.

so when he got home the first thing he did was enclose himself inside of his bedroom. he laid on his bed, his hands running through his black locks while he stared up at the darkness of his ceiling. its amazing how he found comfort in it, found comfort in the taps against his window from the rain.

he closed his eyes when his door was opened and he heard small footsteps approach his bed. he said nothing, only turning his head to the side releasing a small sigh. hongjoong got the hint, climbing onto the bed and wrapping seonghwa in his arms. nothing had to be said.
