I'm tryna list all the musicals ive watched/listened to

9 1 0

And I may've missed
Some

So idk

But this is what I got so far

Little shop of horrors
Wicked
Heathers
Hairspray
Grease
Chicago
Be more chill
Legally blonde
Mean girls
Hadestown
Miss Saigon
Falsettos
Newsies
Bonnie and Clyde
Six
The greatest showman (doesn't really count but whatever)
TGWDLM
Trail to Oregon
Black Friday
Rent
Matilda
Teen beach movie (jk... unless...)

I'm gonna see if I can explain the story as how I came to watch/listen some of these

Little shop of horrors:
I used to go to a performing arts group of Saturdays and there was this thing called "Saturday Workshop" where there would be two classes (juniors and seniors) and you would do singing with one teacher, dancing with another, and acting with the last
T'was... alright... and then I ditched it the moment I started secondary school
But anyway, the singing and dancing would often combine when it came to the shows the company did, so the seniors and juniors would perform some sort of musical medley together

And one year
I was about nine (wish I was kidding)
We did a little shop medley
And me and my sister decided to watch it because of it
I enjoyed it
But
I'm surprised it didn't scare
Me

Wicked:
The main reason I got into wicked is bc I went to see it in London when I was 9/10 with my mum, sister, friend and her mum
It was rlly good (unsurprisingly)

Heathers:
...I saw... danganronpa animatics... of candy store... and meant to be yours...
And I thought... it was pretty cool... so I listened to... it...

Hairspray:
Another medley we did for my performing arts group, except I was even younger and there was a not very chill manager for the company (he got annoyed once and hit a water bottle across the room and it almost hit one of the kids)
I was kinda scared of him
And then he left with most of the money and the company almost went bankrupt

Which probs explains why the classes cost so darn much

Grease:
T'was my older sister's tenth birthday
She had a sleepover with her friends
I was...
Seven going
On eight
And they watched it so I guess I did too

Chicago:
Somehow knew cell block tango before watching it
(But like who
Doesn't know cell block tango)
And then decided to watch it

Be more chill:
My sister was like "hey listen to this musical"
I did
I was then confused
I then watched a bootleg
And finally like three days after opening night (and just before all this corona business rlly became a problem) I got to see it in London (it was sooooo good)

Legally blonde:
Can't recall how I initially watched it, I think my sister showed me a bootleg
But around March last year, my interest in it peaked cause my sister was in a performance of it at her school

Mean girls:
No clue what happened here

Hadestown:
My sister rlly wanted me to listen to it
I was kinda like "no" at first cause I do that a lot
Like if you tell me to do something, the chances of me doing it decrease massively
But anyway, she kept playing it in the car and I was like "damn, this is mildly catchy"
So on the way back from the Thorpe park trip last year, I tried to listen to some of it

Didn't have enough time, did not even reach act two, but I tried again
And in late august/early September last year
I found a bootleg and watched it (and cried)

Leading us very nicely
Into the next one

Miss Saigon:
Around august last year, my sister showed me a clip from the song "you will not touch him"
And we both thought it was amazing
So on the same day that I watched the Hadestown bootleg (and cried)
We rented the pro shoot of miss Saigon on Amazon (and I cried)

So yes, Eva Noblezada (specifically her as both times were related to her character) made me cry twice in one day

And then we bought miss saigon and now the world is good

Falsettos:
Sister showed me it
We watched act one but then I gave up
She finally convinced me to watch it
I cried
(I'm sensing a common theme here)

Newsies:
We got Disney plus
I had wanted to watch it for a while
I did
Boom
End of story

Bonnie and Clyde:
I tried to make it seem like I got into this in a normal way but it's actually kinda similar to how I got into heathers

Basically, someone made like a Bonnie and Clyde AU of Hadestown and I saw a clip of that, thought it was rlly good, saw that Jeremy Jordan was in it and I listened to it, not understanding anything that was going on

And then I found a bootleg earlier this evening and I watched it and it was rlly good

Clyde had a hat that was very similar to Jack (from Newsies) hat and it was a lil surreal

Six:
Who knows?
Something to
Do with my sister probably

The greatest showman:
Watched in cinema
Can't really say anything else about it other than "the other side" SLAPS

TGWDLM:
Nimbus showed me it

Trail to Oregon:
Nimbus showed me it

Black Friday:
Nimbus showed me-
I'm beginning to sense a pattern here

Rent:
My sister watched it
Then watched it again
And again
And again
And again
And again

So yea

AND IM WATCHING IT RN
(Well I was when I wrote that bit)

Matilda:
Another one of those
Musical medleys I did
Like I kinda hated that performing arts group after a bit but also it did get me into musicals

And i ain't gonna mention teen beach movie

Y'know, there's a chapter of one of my stories that's shorter than this
I think there's one that's like 800-900 words in head hunters and this is over 100

Oof

K bye
