CHAPTER 13: BROTHER AGAINST BROTHER

Time skip: the next day

Yamato (male) POV

Early in the morning i left my warehouse to meet with admiral to give me permission to reveal our biggest secret that we the high ranking official swore to kept. But since the kanmusu wanted to learn history about their predecessor, it's time to reveal the incident that wrecked havoc the naval district once.

I arrived at the hall early than all kanmusu as i try to remember the darkest day in male fleets history. How? How am i gonna face them if i tell them about the war that wasn't supposed to happen. Our face as a male fleet surely will lose.

An hour later, all kanmusu take their places and ready to listen to where we stopped yesterday.

"Nii-sama, can you tell us about the war that you said that the enemy was not abyssal?" My little sister yamato ask.

The commotion between kanmusu occurs and they whispering at each other. With a heavy hearted, i guess there will be no secret anymore.

"Listen carefuly because i only tell this story once"

All kanmusu sit up straight and focusing on me. I take a deep breath and i begin to say my next word.

"It was a war that happened because of a political problem between two factions inside the naval district. It was a war of loyalty and disagreement between both sides"

"Wait...don't tell me that..." mutsu was surprise and her face turns pale.

"Yes...it was Naval District Civil War"

All kanmusu were gasping and they are surprised that a war between an ally occured inside the district. Nagato and mutsu was speechless and so does kiddo. Because never woud've thought that a civil war once happened.

"But what caused a civil war?! Fubuki ask.

"Politics, disagreement, loyalty. This three were the trigger of civil war"

"Can you tell us more?!" Akagi said

"Back then, there are 2 ranks and offices that hold the same powers and duties. And that is Vice Admiral, and Secretary Ship. I was the VA while nagato was Secretary, a war started from the argument between two positions on how to make a move against abyssal"

"What is that mean?" Nagato stare at me with a hawk eyes.

"I suggested to admiral that we annihilate abyssal small base around the district, the we will take the main island. But nagato suggest that we should send a full blown force to the main abyssal base. I disagreed with him as it was a suicide mission and he disagreed with me because my way just wasting time and resources while the enemy will slip and attack swiftly"

"Please, go on" ashigara said

"Both of us had our own blocs and both blocs argued amongs themselves on our ideas and who will lead the fleet. But arguments turns into a bloody fight as one of myouko brothers killed ryujo while they're on a expedition mission. Yayoi, mochizuki and satsuki return fire and a first battle happened in the middle of the ocean. A news about ryujo sunk was passed up to me, i was furious and i met nagato and both of us had a huge argument about ryujo's sink"

"Then what happened?" Yuudachi ask

"Nagato laid his hand on me and at that time, civil war was official. We drove nagato and all his boys away from the main district and all of them retreat to an abandon island on the south west. From there, all of us fight amongs ourselves and were almost destroy that main island"

"So that's why an old base have a huge explosion crate everywhere!" Fubuki stands up from her seat.

"Correct! And i spend almost everyday at the main district until our gate was breached and that's when nagato and his boys invaded my island"

"How the war end?!" Mutsuki ask.

"Before that....let me remind you that i had a small number of  followers. The who fought with me that still alive at that time was kongo brothers, akagi, kaga, akatsuki brothers, sendai brothers, tenryu and fubuki. During the last battle or we called battle of Main district, we were outnumbered and outgunned..."

Flashback

At that time, one of sendai brothers, jintsu was officially sunk after a heinous attack after nagato and his boys ambushed us during the night. All of us gather around and watch jintsu sunk to the bottom of the ocean and sendai stare at me with a teary eyes.

"What's next yamato?" He ask while sobbing.

My boys ready to fight until their last breath, but after comparing our fire power to nagato who had a majority of naval district inhabitants behind him, i only can think of one think. Surrender. That is the only way to save everyone's skins.

"Surrender" i answer to sendai casually.

Sendai slowly stand and he grab my collar and he pull me near to his face. From that moment i know that he is frustrated.

"Surrender? So you telling me that you're gonna let jintsu and others who loyal to you die just like that?!" Sendai yell at me.

"Take a look, sendai"

Sendai look around our comrades that had their arms, legs, hands, fingers amputated, injuries, sunk, outnumbered, and our condition that can be easily wiped out with just one swift attack. Sendai look back at me with his teary eyes and naka comforting him.

"It's unfair...they started the war and we're the one who lose?!!" Sendai yell at me.

"War never fair, sendai. That is why people die"

Sendai unable to say any further and he shut himself up. I ask all my loyal fleet that they have 2 choices. Continue fighting and dying while abyssal attacking, or surrender and live to kill those abyssal. All of them including sendai agreed to surrender.

I stand on the ocean unarmed waiting for nagato's fleet to attack. Nagato fleets arrived and they were surprised to see me unarmed. He approached me with his usual stoic looking face and he looks confused.

"Why aren't you saddle up?" Nagato ask

I raise my hand and a white flag was raise from behind. Nagato saw this and he ordered his fleets to stand down. The civil war finally over and my bloc lose the war. From there, the position of vice admiral was abolished and it was replaced by secretary ship and nagato was the secretary until our decommissioned 30 years ago.

Flashback end

"That is the darkest day in naval district history. Brother against brother, only to be end by surrender. I did that because my comrades reached their limit, and abyssal fleet was on their way for an assault"

The bell rings marks the end of the class. All kanmusus leave the hall with a sorrow face after hearing something that was unsuitable for them. But truth is the truth, either way, must know so they will never repeat the same mistake like we did.

Sometimes argument...lead to war, war lead to seperation, seperation lead to death.

That's what happened to my brother...musashi....
