My Roses

My roses and I sleep next to the moon

And we wake with the sun in the late afternoon

Down a ladder of petals that watches the sea

I and my roses, my roses and me

Leaves upon stems, they rest in my hand

My roses awake to the dawn of the land

Raise up your blossoms, brightly parade

Abolish the night, the shadows, the shade

A ray of sun that seeps through a petal

Says gold is an emotion, not just a metal

And it rests on your floral breathtaking hues

As the sun sinks below our cantaloupe views

My roses and I whisper through the air

Twilight falls with a lavender flair

A halo of blossoms, a bouquet of lights

Soft petals on wings, a pastel goodnight.
