A Thousand Miracles

My heart skipped a beat as snowflakes fluttered in the icy air,
Landing on eyelashes, nose and hair.

They glistened in the sun as they danced like butterflies,
Tumbling like leaves in early morning skies.

As they landed I felt numb and cold,
They had captured my love, to the snowflakes my heart was sold.

Trees of pine surround me as a thousand miracles bought a new layer to winter,
The fear in my heart began to splinter.

Hope had arrived and fear had fled,
Fear was extinct. Fear was dead.
