It's been nearly 2 months since Haliegh met Jack. The day she met him, after school she told her parents about the amazing day she had, except for the bullying part.
Her parents have been getting into arguments more lately. So they barely had time to listen to her. Haliegh being an only child, she grew up lonely, and relying on her friends to keep her company. But her dad getting a new job in Colorado meant that she had to say goodbye to her friends. Eventually they lost contact all together.
In this new school, only having one friend was kind of hard. She had only one class with her new friend, and it was her least favorite class which is a good thing, but it is her shortest class. So they only have one class, and lunch to see each other during school.
What she didn't understand is that Jack had other friends to hang out with, and he didn't want her in the group just yet because the boys would make fun of him for hanging out with a girl. This meant that she saw him less then he did already.
