Y/N stifled a yawn behind her hand as she walked down the staircase, the landlady already shaking her head from the lower level.
"You look miserable," the woman quipped, earning a short laugh from the teen who provided a short smile.
Usually, the reincarnated female was not one to allow herself to look anything less than presentable, even on her days off to herself. It most likely came with the territory of not wanting to attract attention from any new characters, but she had at least tried to look somewhat decent when in public. But with a rather hectic afternoon and coming to learn the individual she had helped had been one of the villains in the series, most of her evening plans had been thrown down the drain in favor of frantic, late-night searching for more information on Masami to keep her mind off of things and dare say, yelling.
Lots and lots of yelling.
Needless to say, she had yet to truly sleep a wink as of yesterday and it was extremely present in her appearance, from her tangled hair sloppily thrown into some form of a ponytail to her casual slacks.
"I didn't take you one for openly insulting your tenants. Isn't that bad for business?" the h/c haired girl responded curtly, not wanting to go into any sort of discussion about her looks. The landlady grunted, crossing her arms and glaring towards the younger person.
"Don't sass me." The older woman shook her head, watching the young girl provide a lazy stare. "If you're heading out for the day, you might as well do some stuff for me. I've been needing to get some groceries for the week but haven't had the chance to get out yet."
"Not even giving me a day to myself, huh?"
"You've had enough time to do your brooding with that arm of yours and all you do is get into trouble. Now get going. I want you back before it gets too late."
"Yes..."
Y/N sighed as the older female shoved a small list in her hand and pushed her off with a wave. She frowned at it but accepted the request, stuffing the paper into the pocket of her sweats, beginning her short journey. She kept her eyes forward, holding down another yawn attempting to come back up and watching the road with little interest.
Like every other time she had tried to find information on her circumstances, she had gained little insight to her predicament. Besides what little she had on her phone and the short news report, there was almost nothing she could go off of. But with what little information present about Masami also came to the evergrowing concern of her small group of fans.
One way or another, she could not find any justification as to why her popularity seemed to increase after USJ unless someone had purposefully leaked information about her. It wasn't out of the realm of possibility, considering that this world had their fair share of villains and a large variety of quirks. Her assumption was most likely correct as well, seeing how quickly they found her hospital and home locations. However, that didn't account for why.
Why would someone be interested in leaking some quirkless vigilante's information?
Unless they were actively trying to exploit the popularity she was gaining, there was honestly no good reasoning behind what was happening. It was only benefiting her after all. They weren't even doing this for gain as she had received no forms of blackmail or been targetted outside the villain attack either. It honestly made no sense the more she tried to wrap her brain around it.
The female kept to herself as she worked her way through the small crowd of people she encountered. Her usual train station was a few minute's walk from the apartment complex, meaning she had plenty of time to think to herself. It was nice she lived in a relatively quiet area, most of the stuff she encountered and the arcade being further away from her residence.
