"Come on, this way," Dabi called.
You followed him up the cracked concrete stairs, looking down to make sure you didn't lose your footing. Dabi had led you to an old abandoned building on the outskirts of the city. It was finally time for you to meet this special guest Dabi had informed you of. Your boyfriend didn't give you many details about this mysterious person. He had just instructed you to suit up to conceal your identity. He wore his long trench coat as well, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
The two of you continued to walk towards the top of the staircase. Dabi held the door open for you and you entered the large vacant floor. Some of the windows were boarded up and the ones that weren't, had vines leaves that twisted around the windows frames. The stone floor held a collection of scattered papers and crunchy leaves. But you didn't catch sight of the mysterious stranger.
Dabi grasped your hand, tugging you gently to make you face him. He leaned in close and you half-expected him to plant a kiss on your lips. Instead, he just grabbed your mask and pulled it over your lips. "Just in case," he half smiled. "I've met with him a few times and he knows not to tell you anyone about you. But I don't think he should know your identity."
"No, I get it. Where is he?" you asked puzzled.
Dabis ocean eyes flickered over to a door behind you. "He's through there," he nodded. "We're gonna meet him on the roof. I'll go through first, then bring in you. If anything happens just get behind me."
"What? What do you mean if anything happens?"
"If," he stressed. "If anything happens just get behind me. I don't need you getting caught in the crossfire."
"Is he....dangerous?"
"Pfft no," Dabi scoffed. "That punk ass is the least threatening person I've ever met. I can take him down easily."
You rolled your eyes at his arrogance. "Glad to hear I'm being protected by someone like you."
"You should be, princess," he smirked. He looked over you one last time, his eyes then trailing back to the door behind you. "Okay...Let's go. I need you to hang back until I say so, got it?"
"Got it," you nodded.
You stepped aside to let Dabi take the lead. The two of you crossed the floor and opened the door to head up the staircase that would lead to the roof. With each step that you took, you could hear your heart drumming louder in your ears. There were so many questions flooding your mind. Who was this guy? Could he really have the resources that you need in order to catch your past tormentor?
You really hoped so. But you knew Dabi wouldn't just bring you to anyone. So maybe this "informant" could help you out after all.
Dabi stopped in front of the exit door, turning to look at you over his shoulder one last time. "Remember," he whispered. "Wait for my call."
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes again. It was sweet that Dabi was being protective, but if anything it just made you more nervous. Dabi opened the door but stopped you from passing through, closing the door quickly behind him.
Well...I guess he really does want me to hang back.
You leaned on the cold wall next to the metal door, gazing down at the scuffed up floor as you remembered your conversation with Dabi last night.

"(Y/N)....my dad is Endeavor."
You blinked several times confused and stared back at your boyfriend expecting him to burst out laughing claiming that it was all a joke. But he didn't. Instead, he met your stare with sincerity in his eyes. Dabi was not joking at all.
