"Miss McAuley was nice, dad." Sophie comments as she, Anna, and I are walking back to our house on Kirk Street.

"You guys are working together?" Anna queries.

"That's right."

"So, what does she do? Is she a detective? A commission officer like Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit?" Anna inquiries.

"She's actually a victim's advocate." I answer.

"Victim's advocate, what's that?" Sophie questions.

"The victim's advocate support victims of crime. They offer emotional support, victim's rights information, help finding needed resources, and assistance in filling out crime victim related forms." I define.

"She's like a therapist that comfort the victims of crime?" Anna supposes.

"Miss McAuley is not a therapist. She attended college to follow her passion to comfort and support victims and their families who have faced and are facing traumatic experiences."

"She's really cool, though. And Marie Skye is cool, too. I'm not jealous or anything, but her outfits are inspiring me to shop for some new clothes."

"The six of you will be shopping tomorrow after school. Why don't you ask Marie Skye what store she shops at?" I suggest.

"When we get back, I'll text her." Anna says.

"Sounds like a good plan."

The girls and I spend good eleven minutes discussing about the neighborhood, Sondra as well as her four children, and the new school Sophie is attending to. Although the three of us, including Sammy moved here just a month prior from June, she's already in a new middle school while Anna is preparing herself a job interview at a clothing store in a nearby mall just a couple of miles in Boston.

By the time the girls and I arrive at our house, the loud bark coming from Sammy occurs as he runs jolly towards the girls and me. "We're back home, boy-o!" I crouch to Sammy's level and run my fingers through his pale gold fur, petting him. "Did you miss us while we were gone?" I speak with a baby voice because obviously Sammy is like a baby to me despite him being two years old and an adult dog. I admire his mouth turning upwards and his eyes slightly narrowing, letting out this groan of satisfaction.

"Dad, can you, like, stop making love to Sammy?" Anna asks in her tone of discomfit.

"What, Sammy can't get love and affection from us? I defend.

Anna briefly titters as her reply before walking upstairs to her room. "I'm ordering Chinese food!"

"I'd like to have Chow Mein and the orange chicken!" Anna yells from upstairs.

"And Sophie likes the sesame noodles along with spring rolls." Although my daughters and I, as well as Sammy recently moved here a few days ago, I've been searching restaurants with excellent reviews while I was searching on Google near my area. Thank you, Google!

"Mm! Dad, these spring rolls are delicious!" Sophie comments satisfyingly.

"Yeah and so is the orange chicken!" Anna concurs.

"Well, I'm glad you girls like it!" I grin like a proud father I am. The food from the local Chinese food really hits the spot-- it has my positive review for the restaurant and it seems like my daughters along with myself will order meals in the future.

As the girls are enjoying their meal, I pierce my fork into pieces of the chicken and broccoli on my dish, bringing the fork to my mouth to chew the food. Mm-mm-mm! The combination of the tender and juicy chicken along with the mildly bitter, yet earthy broccoli hits the spot!

"Dad, Marie Skye told us about the chicken and waffles place called the Wings n Waffles that's here in Boston." Anna says.

"Chicken and waffles?" I furrow my brows in confusion. "Okay, you're making me want to make chicken and waffles for dinner tomorrow."

"She said it's really good. It'll be our first time having them, including you, Sophie."

"I'm not eating meat that goes with waffles! I would rather eat blueberry waffles instead of meat coming from animals." Sophie opposes.

"Sophie, you have been a vegetarian baby ever since you were a baby. When are you going to adjust to the changes in a meal?" Anna queries.

"Sophie carries the vegetarian trait after your mother and Anna, if Sophie doesn't want to eat meat for a change, let her be a vegetarian. After all, it is her choice and you have to accept it." I speak.

"Yes, dad." Anna nods in defeat, yet comprehensive.

"After work, I will have to find a grocery store to get food for tomorrow's dinner." I tell the girls. And chicken wings with waffles? That is a dish I could try to make.
