Moving On

Dean's POV

I couldn't control it. I wish I could take it all back. But it all came spilling out. The dam I was holding exploded. All the emotions piled out. It was a stupid argument.

All Cass wanted was a damn Cat, and I yelled at him.

" I'm busy Cass! We don't have time for youir stupid obsession with Cats!"

" I'll take care of it! Okay? There's no reason to yell." Cass says a little softer.

" You can't tell me what to do! You're so needy, okay? Nobody wants you. And I certainly don't need you!"

Cass is speechless. He's looking for something to say, but can't really find anything. 

" Oh.. okay then. If you don't need me, then I'll go. I think it's time for me to move on anyways. Good bye Dean." Cass mutters out and leaves. He leaves me there.

It ended as quickly as it started. And of course I needed him. Hell, I even want the guy. He always gives me this smile. His Goddamn smile is warm and contagious. It's beautiful, just like him. But I'll never tell him that, of course. I promised myself that.

But what can I say, I'm terrible at keeping promises.

I couldn't stay in the bunker. It reminded too much of Cass. So, instead of dealing with it, I did what I do best: I ran away. I didn't even tell Sam where I was going. Left no note, no sign, just got up and left. I wanted to start over. So, I moved to Nevada to start my own Car & Auto shop.

It took me a few months, but I was able to get my own shop in a small town. Business was great, I had the only shop within 100 miles.

For the first time in years, I felt free. No monsters, no end of the world. Just a peaceful town where everybody knows each other and barbecue every sunday. But I always have this nagging pain in my chest. Like something's missing.

Even a year later, it's still there.
