Fairy With a Shotgun

Chapter 3

Lucy POV:

After the long trip we're finally in Japan, everything looks so different to Magnolia, or even Fiore. Natsu, Wendy and the exceeds seem to know their way around since they've been here before so they lead us to the right hospital. Once inside I walk to the front desk and give them my name, the woman looks at me with some shock and then nods putting my information into the computer. After a couple of minutes a nurse comes over to us, she introduces her self as Aki Natsuki and leads me down some corridors to a hospital room. Inside Kirito sits on a bed with a smile on his face, he stands up and rushes over to me pulling me into a hug.

"Took you long enough Master." he says holding me tightly.

"Ha ha." I say with a smile.

After talking with everyone for a couple of minutes both of us get changed into hospital gowns, then we each take a seat on the beds in the room. She connects wires to our chests and then gives us each an Amusphere, once it's on my head I smile at Natsu and the others.

"We should only be in for about four or five hours, go sight see if you want. As long as at least two of you are here at every opportunity then everything should be ok." I say to them and then lie down.

Natsu then walks over and looks at me with a soft expression on his face.

"Remember, you promised you'd come back." He says taking my hand in his.

"Don't worry Natsu." Kirito says as he lies down. "I'll keep an eye on her."

With a laugh and a final kiss I close my eyes.

"Link Start!"

After doing all the normal tests I convert over my avatar from ALO, then I open my eyes and look at the world around me. Everything looks dirty, almost like it was designed to look like a war zone, smoke mixes with dust to create a thick fog everywhere. After a couple of seconds another person appears next to me, turning I expect to see Kirito but then burst out laughing. He looks over at me confused but when he does his long dark hair brushes past his face.

"You've gotta be kidding me." He says looking for some type of mirror.

"Nice hair Kirito, it's almost as long as mine now! Did your Avatar get corrupt or something?" I ask him as he looks at his new face.

"I sure hope not, if I go back as a girl I think Asuna might have way too much fun, same with the others." He says as I laugh again.

A man then comes rushing over to us looking at us like we're new toys. "Wow those must be the new F1300 right?! I've only heard rumours about it! I'll give you each 2 mega credits for your accounts!" He says his eyes scanning our bodies, but he focuses longer on my chest....gross. "Come on ladies what do you say?"

"Lady?" Kirito says and then runs his hands down his body, but then he breathes a sigh of relief. "Sorry to break it to you but I'm a guy."

"Holy Crap! Then that must mean you have the M9000 Model! I'll give you four no five for it! Come on sell it to me!"

"Sorry man, but these are converted from another game. We can't exchange it for cash." I say running a hand through my hair.

"Aw man that sucks." The guy says before Kirito takes my hand and we walk off.

As we walk my eyes scan everything, this is totally different from any other game I've played before. Guys however keep wolf whistling at us as we walk so we quicken our pace, not really sure where we're going. After Kirito got us lost I look around for someone who might be able to help us, that's when I see a girl with teal coloured hair walking past us.

"Um excuse me!" I call running over to her.

"Yeah, what?" She asks and then looks me and Kirito up and down. "First time in game?"

Kirito then has an identity crisis and tries to act like a girl, think his avatar is getting to him.

"Yes it's our first time in game, we're looking for somewhere to buy cheap weapons. Oh and where the governors office is." He says in a 'girly' voice. It takes everything inside me not to laugh.

"Oh sure, just follow me." She says with a smile.

I give Kirito a side glance and then follow her, she leads us through the streets to a plaza kind of area.

"So why do you both want the governors office?" She asks.

"We want to register for an event called the Bullet of Bullets." I explain to her.

"BOB? Ok but you've both only started playing today right?" She questions.

"Yeah..." Kirito replies.

"I don't know, you might not have enough stats for that." She says thinking.

"We've converted these avatars from another game, so our skills should be pretty good." Kirito says as we walk along a bridge.

"Well ok, but mid if I ask what drew you into this game? I mean it's dusty and stinks of oil." She says.

"We've only played fantasy games up until now, so I guess we both just wanted a change of pace." I say. "Plus gun battles have always fascinated me, so I wanted to see what it was like to play one."

It's not a total lie, while watching Bisca and Alzack duel with each other I've wanted to know what it would feel like. But I've never needed to learn how to use one since I have my Celestial Spirits, and my sword when I use it. It was a gift from Loke after I got out, it's pretty light but feels similar to the one that I had in game. It's helped me to improve my skills so I can't complain, even though Erza keeps looking at me like she wants a duel.

"So you decided to try BOB right off the bat? That takes a lot of guts I'm impressed." The girl says. "We'd best get you both guns then, I know a great market which has all kinds of stock. It's just down this way."

We both follow her to a large market, inside there are weapons everywhere, different types of guns and other items I've never seen before. Bisca and Alzack would love this!

"This shop has everything." I say looking around.

"Pretty much, there are two types of weapons in GGO gave or take, Optical Guns and Live-Ammo Guns. Optical guns are lighter and have better precision, but their effectiveness is halved when the player's equipped with a protective field. If you're in a PvP battle like BOB a live ammo gun is the way to go." She explains.

"Right ok." Kirito says as we look around.

"So what kind of stats do you have?" She asks us.

"Um for me it's strength, then speed I guess." Kirito says.

"And mine is the opposite, speed then strength." I say thinking of my stats.

"You both seem like STR-AGI types to me. Ok then you should both look at your main weapon being either an assault rifle or maybe....you should carry a large calibration machine gun, with a handgun as backup, like a mid-range combat type." She explains.

"It's another language for me, so I'll follow your lead." I say shyly.

"Oh but you've just converted over right? Do you have any credits?" She asks.

Kirito and I look at each other, didn't really think about money....Each of us open our menu and look at our money.

"It says here a thousand credits." Kirito says.

"That's the amount every new player gets, but since you don't have a lot of money the most you'll be able to get is a small ray gun." She says. "It's not even enough to get you a small used revolver. If you both want I can lend you a little money for the guns, you can pay me back later."

"No that's really fine, is there a way to make quick money fast here?" I ask as Kirito looks flustered by her offer.

"Well I don't recommend them, but there are casinos and gambling games. There are some in this shop too, like that one over there." She says pointing to a game.

It looks like a western style game, with a man holding a gun at the end of a sandy path.

"How does it work?" Kirito asks.
