DEMI P.O.V.:
I neved went to the hospital again after Joe's words. It was pretty clear he didn't want me near his baby. And he had a right...I guess.
It was a week later, Saturday during lunch time when I got a call from an unknown number. I frowned and took the call.
"Hello?" I asked nervously.
"Hello Demi, it's Denise here." I sighed in relief and nodded but instantly filled with worry. Why was she calling me?
"Umm, did something happen?" There was a silence on the line and my worry started to grow until she talked again.
"We're in England." I frowned. "All of our family is here, and Sophie's too. There will be a ceremony tonight to honor Sophie..." I nodded. It was obvious now that she said it. "Joe is obviously here cause he'll say some words to her fans and...family."
"Yea, that's understandable." I said.
"And he really didn't want to bother you, that's why I'm calling you. Today is Rosie's last day in the hospital, she'll be discharged in about an hour or so, and we'll come back home tomorrow morning." I frowned, still unsure of her intentions. "So, there's no one else left to pick her up who we can trust more than you...would it bother you to pick her up, sign some papers and take care of her for a night?" My jaw dropped a little. "It'll be just a night, and someone will pick her from yours tomorrow morning, I promise. Please, there's no one else we can trust."
"Uh, sure. Yes...I'll be there in an hour to pick her up and...I'll stay tonight with her, you have nothing to worry about. I won't let anything bad happen to her, I promise." I said in one breath and heard a chuckle.
"We know Demi. And thank you so much. It's a lot to do and you're a sweetheart for doing it." I smiled slightly.
"You know, she'll need to be feed so...I need to know if Joe will be okay with it? Cause I don't wanna cause any problems."
"Demi, you just do your thing. He'll be grateful with you for taking care of Rosie." I nodded with a sigh. "Okay so, thank you."
"It's nothing, really." She chuckled again.
"Oh, it's a lot...you have no idea of what you're talking about." She said and I chuckled.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." I said with confidence.
"Call me if you need anything."
"Sure."
"Bye Demi." She said and I smiled.
"Bye Denise." I said and hang up on her.
I started to get my house ready for a baby, right after the call. So, about half an hour later, I grabbed Ella and Batman, and drove with them to my mom's. She opened the door after I rang the doorbell once and frowned at me when she saw my dogs in my arms.
"Hey baby, what does this mean?" She asked and I smiled awkwardly.
"I'll have a baby in my house tonight and I don't want them to be there, just in case she is allergic to them, or they bark...whatever. So, I was wondering if you could watch them tonight. It'll be just one night." She frowned.
"You're not gonna abandon them here like you've done with other dogs before, are you?" I chuckled and shook my head.
"No, I promise it'll be just for tonight." She nodded.
"Sure, then." I smiled at her and gave her my dogs. "Who's that baby?"
"Umm, it's Joe and Sophie's baby girl." Her jaw dropped.
"I heard about Sophie, that was so sad." I nodded with a lump on my throat and titled my head.
"Anyways, their families are in England right now and the little girl is discharged in half an hours so they have no one left here to take care of her for the night. Denise asked me to do it and I obviously said yes...that's the short story." My mom nodded processing the info and I kissed her cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She said and I nodded.
"And also, I'll may call you today if I can't figure something about Rosie out." She chuckled and nodded. "Bye mom."
"Bye." She said and closed the door with both my dogs in her arms.
I cleaned the car and drove to the hospital carefully with a baby car seat I bought on the way to the hospital. I needed to be sure, she'd be safe and comfy in the car.
Once I was out of the car, I went uncovered into the hospital and holding the baby car seat as I made my way to the nursery. I went there and saw my friend aka the nurse that always let me into the room when I legally couldn't.
"Hey." I said to her and she smiled at me.
"You're here to pick Rosie up, right?" I nodded. "Mr. Jonas called and sent a document with his authorization for you to take her home." I smiled.
"That's awesome. Do I have to sign anything?" She nodded her head and gave me some papers I signed before she sent me a sweet smile.
"She's been sleeping most of the day so...you'll probably have her awake for a while." I smiled, that was nice to me. "Come with me."
We entered to the room and she handed me a notebook. It read "Baby facts" on the cover and I chuckled.
"Thank you." I said and she nodded.
"It's to help parents on the first 72 hs of being with their babies, cause it can be chaotic." I chuckled and saved the notebook on my purse. "Miss Rosie, are you ready to go home?" She asked the baby and held her in her arms.
"Oh, put her in the car seat please." I said and she did with a smile. We both clasped the seatbelt and I smiled at the baby as she opened her eyes slightly to look at me. I sighed. "We're gonna be together today." I whispered to her and caressed her cheek with my index finger before grabbing the car seat, a big bag with baby things Joe left in the hospital for his baby and greeting my friend, promising to talk to her if I needed anything after she gave me her number.
I walked back to the car and adjusted Rosie's car seat so she would be perfectly safe and left the bag beside her on the backseat before climbing on my seat.
I started driving carefully back home and turned around on a red light to check on Rosie through a mirror on the back of the car.
"She'll be fine." I whispered to myself and nodded slowly.
