Once Luke left with that guy I started to put on my clothes. It was still late at night but I knew I probably wouldn't go back to sleep due to the stranger in Luke's house. We have school in a few hours anyways. It's going to be miserable but it's like that anyways so not much of a difference with or without sleep.

After putting my clothes on I let out a small yawn and itched my back.

I could hear Luke and Tyler talking loudly downstairs. I folded the clothes Luke had gave me to sleep in and set them on his side of the bed. I checked my phone and saw several text messages from Craig. He said some weird guy was looking for Luke. He was worried about the both of us so I shot him a quick text so he could rest easy. He needed it. I put the phone back in my pocket when I heard footsteps come up the stairs. I quickly grabbed my bandana and tied it around my head.

The door creaked open to show a tired looking Luke. He mindlessly walked over to me and sat down on the bed. He ran his hands through his hair and sighed loudly.

"I'm sorry Ryan I didn't know he was coming tonight. Especially at this hour." He glanced up at me. "Oh, you're dressed. You don't want to go back to sleep?" I shook my head no.

I would never tell Luke but I have bad vibes about Tyler. If Luke is up, I'm up. I'm not letting him go too far out of my sight.

"I suppose I should get dressed too." I nodded my head and grabbed my phone typing out a quick text.

...

I can stay downstairs with Tyler while you get ready.

...

He massaged his head and muttered something I couldn't hear.

"Alright. I'll be down in a bit. Keep him occupied. He's like a child in an adult's body. I shouldn't have even left him alone for this long." Luke flashed me a smile. "Thank you, Ry." My cheeks flushed red at the new nickname and I immediately headed towards the door. Luke chuckled and stood up.

I started to close the door and as soon as I had the tiniest crack Luke began to take his shirt off. I closed my eyes and closed the door the rest of the way. Leaning my head against it to calm my racing heart.

Goddamn it Ryan pull yourself together. Who cares how much you wanted to look a little bit more? I mean you could just open the door and see for yourself...

No! Definitely not! Stop that.

I shook my head and stumbled down the stairs to see Tyler sitting in the living room. I approached and sat on a chair away from where he sat. He stared at me.

Tyler was slightly shorter than Luke. His muscles were less defined but that didn't mean they weren't there. He had blinding light blue eyes with darker hair. He wore a jacket that spelled out wild on the back in bold letters.

"What's with the mask thingy? Are you trying to murder someone?" I shook my head no. We sat for a few moments before he spoke again. "Hm...don't talk much?" I didn't respond to that question. "There's my answer." He smirked. He leaned back in his chair and took a large breath. "You know...when I first met Luke, he was way different than he is now." I moved slightly in his direction. "Oh, so now I have your attention." I rolled my eyes and pulled my legs up to my chest. "I'll just assume you want to know more and keep talking." He put his feet up on a table and chuckled lightly to himself.  "Luke was closed off. He hated almost everyone that crossed his path and he was overall bitter about life. Nothing I said could ever really get through to him. Not if I told that he was lucky or that he did have people who cared for him. It took me several years to get this close to him. Luke coming here is the highlight of his lifespan. You should have seen him." Tyler smiled at the ceiling. It was more of a caring father smile than a friend smile. "Of course, he was surprised but there was something new in him. I know his mom saw it too." My curiosity got the best of me and I turned to fully face him. Staring into his eyes. "He hasn't told you about his mom?"

I shook my head again he sighed and leaned back farther into the couch.

"He's got a lot of explaining to do..." I tilted my head to the side. What's he talking about? Explain what? Tyler sat up and looked around the room behind him and leaned in towards me. We were far away but still he acted as though that would shield his voice from anything else that might be present in the room. "If I were you Ryan, I would ask him to come clean. He's not going to do it on his own." He tapped his chin. "You trust Luke right?"

This time I shook my head forcefully to get my message across.

"Okay. Then the only advice I can give you is to trust him. Things might seem crazy but as soon as you ask for proof, you'll recognize the truth." He paused for a second and smiled at himself. "Damn that rhymed I should give advice more often." He laughed. I wanted to ask more but Luke came down the stairs in a new outfit. It was a blue shirt that faded to a nice purple at the bottom. His hair was brushed and out of his face. He wore grey jeans and sneakers as well.

He looked very nice.

"Snazzy Luke." Tyler whistled and started to cackle. Luke smirked, rolled his eyes and walked over to me. A sweet smell wafted off him.

"I'm making breakfast what do you want?" He bent down to talk to me. His shirt hung loose in front of me and it took every brain cell I had not to stare down it at his chest. Instead I hid my head and texted him a short message that only said eggs on it. Luke pulled out his phone and nodded. Then he turned to Tyler and his demeanor changed completely. His soft tone was harsh but playful. "What do you want home invader? You have to pay for my window by the way."

"Ah Satan will pay for it." Tyler responded. I gave Luke a confused look as he shot a scowl at Tyler.

"I'm not making you shit."

"Fine. It's not like I need to eat anyways." He shot a wink at Luke. I felt something twist inside my chest. I shook it off and followed Luke into the kitchen after turning on the television for Tyler to watch. Luke was grabbing pans and stuff. I leaned on the table and watched him go. He seemed to like that I was in there with him.

We would talk every so often but mostly I just admired how skillful he was in the kitchen. He bragged about cracking eggs one handed and messed it up the first time. He blamed it on not practicing much.

"You know you could help right? Instead of just laughing at me." He groaned as I silently giggled about the whole egg cracking incident. I stopped and walked over to him. "Do you want to help?" I agreed and he grabbed my shoulders and brought me over to the pan with two eggs in it.

Luke stood behind me and pressed his chest to my back. He leaned over and dragged his arms down mine, guiding them towards a spatula and the handle of the pan. I felt my heart start beating out of control when he ducked his head down to my level and started to quietly give instructions.

"You can flip the eggs. You just take this..." He held up my hand with the spatula in it and began touching the edges of the egg. I felt his breath trail along my neck. His body is naturally warm and it sent chills down my spine whenever his body happened to touch any part of my back. At this point I wasn't listening to anything he was saying. He just helped my hands flip the both of the eggs and let go softly. His nice scent trailing behind him. "I told you you could do it!" He smiled and shook the pan a bit. "Good job Ry." His hand landed in my hair and he ruffled it slightly. His hands moved a little bit lower. He brushed my ear and fiddled with the edge of my bandana. "You know I really don't like this thing." His smile turned into a frown. "I think you should go without it more often. I like your face."

Within ten seconds the bandana was off and on the counter. He gave me another warm smile and I felt my heart flutter.

Oh god. This man. This man is going to fucking kill me.
