THE GLASS CASTLE

They carried all the pieces of glass they could find
Fragile, unstable pieces of glass that was left behind
Then they built a house with it, made a car and had kids
Together in it but far apart in their hearts
They were supposed to be in love, supposed to care and share with each other, but it was all an illusion
A very lucid one so it seemed.

So these humans ignored it all, they kept building their house higher and higher than before
Until they had built a mighty looking castle, a clear castle, open to the world
So everyone would see, would judge, would talk and it tore them apart
And when people of the world finally cast stones at their castle with so much envy and uncontrollable jealousy, they started with little rocks that only left a crack. They hit and hit until they felt there could be more of that.

So they picked the big stones, the ones heavy enough to kill, they threw it together and this castle then fell, shattering
The rock hit, the ones inside couldn't control it , so they closed their eyes as they accepted their fate, the world that was their safe place destroyed them.

Shatters of glass fell, from big to small, bruising everyone, they were no more, they were all gone
And then the people, guilty of the crime, turned away to look for their next victims, like lions looking for prey
And those who cared were left to mourn away.
