Ch.9 Second wave of catastrophe

~Y/n pov~

The second wave of catastrophe was finally upon us . Though it didn't actually seem much harder than the first, that was until a big ass ship came along.

It was floating through the sky as if it were water.

Only the minor monsters were left to deal with so we left them to guards and the other men.

Whatever was on that ship was sinister , so me and Itsuki decided to be the ones to go up and attempt to defeat whatever it was.

Seems we weren't the only one with that idea as we saw Motoyasu and Ren facing against it.

Ren was fighting a skull captain but whenever he drained its health, it just seemed to replenish as if it was unbearable to of course it wouldn't be unbeatable.

There has to be some sort of tactic .

The same was happening with Motoyasu, he was fighting this worm like creature with a skull for a head, it was more than twice his size.

Me and Itsuki stood to the side shooting the demonic birds flying around, well he was shooting arrows and I was shooting spells.

I saw a big filolial flying towards us and recognised it to be Naofumi's , my suspicions were confirmed when both him and Raphtalia came into view .

He landed on the mast at the top of the ship and surveyed the situation.

Ren and Motoyasu held their weapons in front of them backing up until they bumped into each other.

"What the hell are you doing Motoyasu!?" Ren titled his head to yell at him, "We need to take out the skeleton.

Motoyasu frowned but then again, half the time his ugly face is frowning, "What are you doing!? We obviously have to take out the giant worm or the soul eater won't spawn otherwise."

I sigh as they argued on what to take out, they're useless.

We need to first figure out how to even defeat them , arguing won't figure it out any quicker .

Naofumi landed between them, perhaps he had figured out how to defeat them.

"Naofumi..." Motoyasu scowled, "Why don't you go and defend some village."

Myne's bitchy voice cut in, "I agree, an incompetent hero who can't fight should.."

Naofumi cut them off frustrated , "You're the incompetent ones!"

They all gasped shocked at the accusation.

"Stop wasting time, we have to do something or more monsters will come." The shield hero pointed out, "Instead of working together you're doing whatever you want."

The man had a point. (Sorry not sorry)

He held up his shield to block the attacks of both the giant worm and the skull captain , "If we lose all the villagers will die and so will you. Quit thinking this is some game!"

Itsuki lowered his bow and walked towards the group, I followed shortly after.

He closed his eyes and sighed , "He's right we need to figure out how to beat these things and fast."

I nodded in agreement , folding my hands behind me back.

Despite our efforts to unite them, they remained ignorant and just started fighting again.

I decided to ignore them and try figure out how to defeat them. Obviously, killing them over and over did nothing.

There had to be some other way to spawn the soul eater .
