The Other Side of Time

Part 11

Sun stood still over the rough waves. Fire and corpses surrounded the field. In front of him was Amagi laying motionless. Sun tried to save Amagi but failed. Sun looked around him only to find his family and friends dead.  Immediately the sea around him turned into an icy wasteland. Sun suddenly woke up in shock. Half of the room was encased in ice while Belfast was trying to get Sun to snap out of his trance.

Belfast "Sun snap out of it!"

Sun "Mom!"

But nothing happened. She gave up and struck Sun across the face. Sun stopped crying but was completely emotionless.

(Time skip)

Everyone met up at the docks and were awaiting orders. Sun, on the other hand, was sitting on his flight deck staring at the sea. Belfast reported what happened last night to Queen Elizabeth.

Queen Elizabeth "do you think it's going to affect his combat capabilities"

Belfast "I'm not sure myself, your majesty"

Warspite "your majesty, we cannot have him stay at the base, we need his planes and anti-air"

Belfast "agreed he's a crucial part of the operation"

Queen Elizabeth "fine but Belfast make sure he doesn't kill himself"

Belfast "yes your majesty"

Some battleships and heavy cruisers boarded Sun's ship as they were much slower than Sun's ship. The ships departed from the Azur Lane base and departed towards the occupied Siren Islands. It started to rain heavily, all the girls abord the took cover inside the Island in the USS George H.W Bush while Sun on the other side, didn't move an inch. Belfast noticed this and grabbed an umbrella and walked over to Sun.

Belfast "you're going to catch a cold if you stay in the rain for too long"

Belfast was only met with silence from Sun.

Belfast "what's wrong?"

Sun "I told you its nothing!"

Belfast "I know somethings bothering you, please"

Sun "shut up! you don't know what the hell I've been through!"

Belfast took a step back in shock as Sun stormed off and ran inside.

Olivia "hey Akashi"

Akashi "yes nya?"

Olivia "have you tested the portal device yet?"

Akashi "yes we did nya"

Olivia "oh really! anything good to report?"

Akashi "We picked up a signal nya, we also believe that the signal we picked up belongs to Sun nya"

Olivia "really? what are you doing tell fleet 1 and 2 to prepare to set sail, also please tell his mom and aunts, ill go tell the other commanders"

Akashi "roger that nya"

Akashi hurried to the dorms while Olivia headed to the docks. She pulled out her phone and called others

Sam "yo"

Alex "yeah"

Hans "what's up"

Olivia "Docks now!"

Olivia hung up the phone and equipped her rigging. Two minutes later they caught up with Olivia.

Hans "what's wrong?"

Olivia "During the testing, phase Akashi and Vestal picked up a signal and it seems like it came from Sun. So we are going to check it out"

Amagi "really!?"

Amagi's face lit up as she heard the news

Sam "I see but what about the base?"

Alex "ill stay and watch over the base and girls, you guys bring back Sun"

Olivia "thanks Alex"

Olivia then turned her attention to the search fleet and ordered them to move out. The fleet then departed from the base and headed to the South China Sea to go and open the portal.

(Back to Sun's point of view)

Boom!

Siren ships appeared out of nowhere and started to fire upon the Azur Lane fleet. Sun rushed out of his ship and started to prepare for incoming wounded. Vestal met up with Sun, the two waited while the sea turned into a battlefield. a bunch of girls suddenly appeared and by the looks of it needed immediate medical care. Sun and Vestal rushed over to them and started to patch them up.

Sun "what's going on out there?"

Hornet "The sirens are too strong! they're shooting down all our planes!"

Sun "fuck!"

Sun continued to patch the wounded up while more were brought in. when suddenly

Akagi "Nee-sama!"

Amagi was wheeled in, She was bleeding badly.

Sun "MOM!"

Sun rushed over to Amagi and began to quickly patch her up. Vestal looked at Sun and saw tears flowing down his cheek as he was trying to stop the bleeding. Zuikaku barged in yelling

Zuikaku "there's no one on the frontlines we need help!"

She suddenly collapsed and a pool of blood started to form on the floor. Vestal ran to her aid while Sun managed to stabilize Amagi. Sun walked over to Vestal and helped her stabilize Zuikaku.

Sun "help me move all the wounded onto your ship"

Vestal "Why!"

Sun "Zuikaku just said there's no one on the frontlines, I'm going to cover your guy's retreat"

Vestal "but if our strongest fighters cant fight of the sirens, what can you do!"

Sun "I have no idea, but ill take down as many as I can"

Vestal "fine but please be careful"

The two transferred all the wounded to onto Vestal's ship. When they finished Sun hastily equipped his rigging and rushed to the frontline. Sun's escort fleet stayed behind except for his battleship which followed him.

Enterprise "what are you doing out here!?"

Sun "You guys retreat there's too many wounded we can't defeat them!"

Enterprise "already?!"

Sun "just go! I'll cover you guys"

Enterprise "what about you?"

Sun "don't worry I'll be fine"

Enterprise "fine"

Sun "thanks"

Enterprise then turned her attention to the rest of the girls who were fighting and ordered them to retreat. Sun looked at the massive siren fleet and muttered to himself.

Sun "commander looks like I'll be seeing you soon"

Sun then charged into the siren fleet with his weapons drawn. While his battleship stayed back and covered him...TO BE CONTINUED
