Luke's POV

Luke paced back and forth across the marble floor, debating his next actions. He had not seen Michael for two weeks now and he was growing increasingly worried. Despite the horrid things he had said to him, and despite kicking him out of the house, he still loved Michael. He hadn't really meant what he said...well, in a way he did, but not to the extent his words and actions portrayed. Honestly, he thought this would have all blown over once he and Michael had had a couple days of space, but when he had not heard or seen the boy longer than that, his anxiety kicked in. The first place, or rather person, he had gone to once he realised this wasn't just an ordinary fight, was Harry. Harry and Michael had always been close, whereas Luke had always been closer to Niall. When Luke had arrived at Harry's place he found he had indeed been right – Harry had taken Michael under his wing – but neither him nor Cristal had seen or heard from Michael since the day they took him in either. Now, Luke was pacing back and forth in his tiny kitchen wondering what to do next. Can someone even file a missing angel report? Deciding what he really needed most was air, Luke grabbed his coat and went for a stroll.

He had no real direction; just lazily walked around. In the end, his feet lead him to the cosmic whirlpool. Luke stared at the humans wandering among earth, clueless to the ethereal above them. He could never grasp why Michael found them so interesting. Maybe it was because Luke had had plenty of time as a ghost to watch them or maybe he was just salty that they got to live the life Luke never had...Snap out of it Luke, he thought to himself.  If he had never died, then he would have never become a ghost and he would have never met Michael. God, where are you Michael?...Luke was in the middle of sulking when the answer suddenly came to him. Michael had always been fond of the human world, so naturally, where would he go if he felt he was no longer welcome in heaven? Somewhere he felt comfortable and familiar with. Luke hurriedly scrolled across the map until he located Calum and Ashton. Noting the address, Luke rushed to the portal door, but stopped in his tracks once he saw there was now security all over the place. When did this happen? Nevermind, he had no time to investigate. He would just have to take the alternate route. It wasn't safe nor open for public knowledge, but being one of heaven's favourite angels, Luke knew where to find the second door. Michael, hold on, I'm coming for you, he thought as he raced against the clock to reach the other portal.

Michael's POV

Michael kicked over a trash can on the street, laughing to himself as the humans who didn't know any better shrieked at the sudden noise. Of course, they couldn't see him, not unless he wanted to be seen – something Michael used to his advantage. It had only been two weeks, but he knew for certain that he was never going back to heaven, even if he did have a choice in the matter. While he'd only been back for a short time, he had already caused plenty of mischief on earth, just as he promised. Between knocking off trash cans, tripping over innocent bystanders and scaring cats on the street, Michael was having the most fun he'd had in years. If only Luke could see him now...What would Luke say if he could see him now?...No, Michael couldn't let his thoughts focus on Luke. The blond didn't want him remember?

Michael was busy contemplating these thoughts that he didn't realise there was another person just ahead of him until it was too late. Michael collided with person's chest, almost knocking himself over in the process.

"You should be careful about where you're going. Wouldn't want to bump into the wrong person now would we?" the man in front of him grinned.

"Sorry, that was my f- wait, did you just talk to me?"

"Who else would I be talking to?"

"I mean, you can see me?"

"Of course I can little angel," the unknown man chuckled. "Fortunately for you, we're one in the same."

"Wait, you're an angel too? But how...why are you on earth and not in heaven with the others?"

"I could say the same for you," the man shrugged. "Why are you down here?"

Something about the man seemed off, but Michael couldn't tell what. There was nothing that appeared to be wrong or suspicious about him physically. The man, who looked like he was in his mid-to-late twenties, had his brunet hair tied back in a bun and wore a blue, Hawaiian t-shirt.

"Personal reasons," Michael decided was a fitting answer for his companion. He didn't need nor want to explain his sob story to this complete stranger. "Look, I have to go, but again, sorry for the intrusion."

"Wait a second," the man stopped him before he could leave. "Where are you off to in a hurry?"

"I have somewhere I need to be," Michael lied.

"Now, you and I both know that's a lie," the man tutted. "Look, I mean no harm. My friends and I are having a little get together and I just wanted to see if you'd like to join us?"

"I don't know..."

"Lighten up angel wings, it'll be fun," the man playfully shoved Michael's shoulder. "Unless of course, you're one of those goody-two shoes angels who always follows the rules. In that case..."

"I'm not!" Michael immediately protested. "Lead the way."

The man chuckled, gesturing for Michael to walk alongside him on the path. Oh what fun he had in store for the little angel.

Author Note //  During this quarantine, I've had a lot of spare time on my hand and call it nostalgia or a guilty conscience, but I thought I might as well at least try to finish what I started here. This may be the only chapter I upload in weeks, but I'm hoping slowly but surely, I can complete this story.
